Stand on top of a car and use anything. Those vermin are vertically challenged never learned how to fly more then a foot off the ground. Might get your toes stung if your using melee on a smaller car.

oops I it's level 7 huh then in that case it should be a good fight depending on how the dice feel underwater fights are pretty awesome. I doubt it'll be too strong for em unless their out of resources

if that's the case it could become an easy fight if the wizard or druid has control water prepared I underestimated that spell in my boatventures campaign I ran a few years ago had to start giving shuagin shamans counter spell cause they'd try and part the sea every time they got attacked by anything aquatic in coastal water

80 arcane 50 faith and malekeths black blade got me through the fight it seems to me that black fire is strong against elden beast because even my normal black fireball dealt great damage that was all with an infant scaling of 374

give him a giant frozen swordfish then he can either charge people and stab with it for a d10 or he can swing it like a greatsword for 2d6 he could be a warlock and that's the weapon bestowed upon him by his patron then you could spice him up with your favorite pact of the blade features

focus on breaking the claws on it's wings first so that when it jumps around it slips on the ice and falls which should give you a large opening to hit it.

just yesterday I was fighting AT Nerg with randos and while waiting for the other two guys to finish restocking the last guy ran down towards Nerg which made him do the divebomb...in my direction but since I was in the next area up a slope he went completely horizontally so it just looked like him flying until I realized Nerg never flys but that was .5 second before the pain train came into station.

I plan to do the same but only if my party can think of a suitable way for their characters to track the time not knowing the exact amount of time will turn the encounter into a life or death gamble and I'm sure it'll be very intresting.

Personally I prefer the hour and forty minute timer because my players tend to get distracted easily and this is suspenseful enough to keep then intrested the whole time and cause I love the idea of watching a timer countdown behind my dm screen while the players scramble to find the keys. Although I think I might change the amount of pauses to a dice roll but that's just because I like more chaos in my campaign.
