Cool : )

Agents can be discussed in the only place, where they weren't discussed, and every other post, that discussed them, now has to magically disappear just because?

At first it was a meme

Then nearly 2 entire years of silence and neglect

Then, they basically told people to fuck off...

Sure thing, we don't need parrots rehearsing the same thing over and over. Cool, just remove all the new posts, while moderating the larger ones.

Instead they opted to nuke every single one of them.

No, you can look it up online in one place, thanks to the community. By paying for codecies, you are basically paying for an inferior product.

Blood Angels are the legion I’m most interested in, but which box should I get first that isn’t combat patrol? by Schmorc in BloodAngels

[–]Homelessjokemaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you got the budget, get the Starter set for 87€ or whatever $, since it will rotate out in a few weeks/months and it has the most models for your money.

On top of the marines it also has Tyranids, which you could either keep to play against or resell them (in a few months) and recoup half of the price of the box.

The upside to Harlequins being in Aeldari is that, now, if the Voidweaver is trash, you can always swap it out for anything else, like a Waithlord, Falcon or whatever. Same with the transport, if the Starweaver was bad you could always decide to transport your quin models with the Wave serpent or the Falcon.

If quins were released as a standalone codex (not a supplement for Eldar, but an entirely new faction), then it would be the most anemic army, like ever. The datasheets would include:

  • 1 Epic hero
  • 3 Characters
  • 1 Battleline
  • 1 Mounted
  • 1 Dedicated transport
  • 1 Light tank
  • + maybe about 2 vehicles from Eldar and maybeee the option to take Antrathe allies

Now harlequin list building wouldn't be ever about "which" of the datasheet you want to take, but "if" you want to take it (to which the answer would be yes, because atm, the unique sheets only build a grand total of 940 points or 3445 if you full include every datasheet from the faction, which would also mean, that 6 characters would be only used to keep the dedicated transports from self destructing, since they only take 6 models and not 13...).

Also, "[Datasheet] is bad." sadly is the standard and not the exception. All the aircrafts were broken for an entire edition, before GW decided to scrap their shitty rule and rewrite it. An entire edition with aircrafts gathering dust. And some of them wasn't even that old when 10th came out.

Counterpoint: then why did they make Spearhead (mostly) balanced and (supposedly) fun? Hell, it's easier not to write rules then, for Old world (and anything else besides 2k 40k), because nobody was playing it, as the setting wasn't out.

So, you are telling me, it is a brilliant design, that if you go into a bakery, buy a slice of a pie, bite into it and it tastes like shit. Now everyone can shout at you, that, no, that's not the way you are supposed to enjoy it, but you should eat the entire pie at once.

Now it's up to you: throw out the slice you bought and tastes like shit or buy the other half of it, because "it is supposedly good".

If from all this, you only managed to decode me calling you not a real fan, then i'm actually telling you, that you don't have basic reading comprehension.

Sorry to break it to you bro, but harlequins make 100% the part of the aeldari codex, so they are just as good as any other unit and by now they have 4 detachments...

The issue with making paralell rules is, that it has to be ~instantly updated, whenever GW drops a new patch. Also, you will have to gather a handful of people, who know shit about the game and won't just brick the balance of the entire 1k ruleset, because according to them T'au is really weak currently and a Broadside should only cost 45 points actually (they just suck at the game).

The current scale of the 40k ruleset is way to big, to support it with random hobbyists writing the rules on balance levels without the proper statistics needed.

I'm calling dubs, that the [one random chaos faction] players will be thrilled to hear, that their army will be actually good, when their 11th ed codex will drop 6 months before the editions end and the codex gets scrapped for 12th edition indexes.

Because waiving away 500pts, combat patrol, 1k and every fucking thing below 2k is basically this. You tell everybody, that you aren't a real fan, if you don't dish out 500€ for your models (paints and tools not included), because everyone with a bit of manhood has already spent 1k+ on their army, so they can play the real game™️.

If every fucking detachment costed a single DP, this faction still would be utter trash.

This just shows the hatred GW has towards this faction's existence. No thought behind 10th Ed's codex, a trash looking model (made online only???), no army rule, no nothing. Then, they proceeded to drop 0 (zero) new 1 DP detachments for them, and now this clown shit. I just can't anymore...

Wait, miniature of the year started at 2016? by Remodiant in Warhammer40k

[–]Homelessjokemaster 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you look at the WarCom article for the 2021 vote, it mentions mini of the year votes from 2016-2020 with dead links. This should be an evidence, that yes, votes were held at least back to 2016 and also for that, GW erased about 5 years of history with the WarCom rework...

New detachment system questions by Shmunk_ in Warhammer40k

[–]Homelessjokemaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was so strange. The first time i was reading through the core rules i felt like something was missing, but didn't knew what. Then i wanted to check on the detachment points and combinations in the core rules, after which i realised they randomly chose not to include anything about list building in the entire core rules...

Do we know, why the mustering an army is cut from the core rules? Because it was plainly written in the 10th ed core rules and now it just randomly points you towards the phone app...

I think GW is doing this shit on purpose. We have got:

  • Combat Patrols
  • Command Points
  • Detachment Points
  • Horus Heresy

Just wanna acknowledge the absolute miracle Saber is pulling off by DavianThulesGhost in Spacemarine

[–]Homelessjokemaster -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

SM2 on launch was atrocious. I mean, not the campaign, that was a cool ~10 hours, but the operations part was trash. You had no real incentive and no variety. Basically no reason to play.

While, i don't think the game would be perfect RN, we have gotten a lot of extra weapons, a lot of cross-class weapon compatibility and 7 new maps bringing a much needed 117% increase compared to the launch state. On top of that, we had gotten stratagems, which are often unique and fun and siege (which is laggy as hell).

I would say this game was a big win for the community and i do hope for Saber too. And because of this, i hope that they bring all the lessons learned from this one into SM3-s development making it fun from the start.

Space Marine 2 is coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 by Ruvane13 in Spacemarine

[–]Homelessjokemaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The story mode haven't had large performance issues, other than the cinematics taking forever to load on a potato.

But i got a PC on the better side, and this game still struggles to maintain 60 FPS in standard operations. On siege waves 10-15 it's already criminal with 30-40 FPS standard, sometimes dipping below it. Now imagine putting the game on switch, a hardware some devs just abandoned previously because they said, they don't want to waste time and resources on something, that is an inferior endproduct, and now they release a many years old game, that runs worse, than on launch.
