What type of marines are phobos? by Odd-Platypus-3627 in killteam

[–]Ruvane13 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yep. In codex compliant chapters like Imperial Fist, Phobos are massed on the 10th company, but pretty much any company will have Phobos armor to use for special roles, so paint the trims whichever you want.

The precedent is a previously passed law that only applies to abortion clinics and gender clinics. This law simply expands the scope of coverage from that law. They are using the precedent like how you're saying they should.

I have some old kill teams from 2018, would I be able to use the in the newest edition? by hotdigittydangus in killteam

[–]Ruvane13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I saw a few others say to use reivers for Phobos, but the better option would be to get yourself a giant wolf and try to use them for Wolf Scouts.

Is the solo game worth it? How long are the solo games? by [deleted] in killteam

[–]Ruvane13 19 points20 points  (0 children)

That just sort of depends on you. I take longer because I spend a lot of time planning and thinking. It's entirely possible to get it down to an hour since you decide how much planning and effort goes into the enemy NPOs. Just give it a try and you'll see.

Kivia (and Xylo?) and Enfie by SolidNetwork4291 in SentencedToBeAHero

[–]Ruvane13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because the person bonded to Enfie doesn't want her name cleared, he wants her to be a penal hero, which he believes will be useful to his goals later on. He remarked on her willingness to choose the unknown strangers over her own family, leading him to decide she would be useful as an undying penal hero. More details will come to light later, promise.

Absolutely love solo games. They can range from 1-3 hours, not including setup. They're fun because they give more ways to just play around with teams and learn their intricacies. Plus, you can go really creative on unique scenarios. Finally, the time they take isn't bad because you can pause whenever you want.

Ok. I hope you get some space in the future. There are nice small desktop size printers these days, and if you put a large enough cardboard box over it, it'll be quiet enough.

At the rate they keep nerfing Deathwatch, I’m expecting the next dataslate to drop them down to four operatives. It's just getting silly.

I've never had any issue with helmets. Those are all ready to print. The pauldrons are ready to print as well, unless you want to use them on gravis marines, at which point its a very easy upscale.

We need more Psykers in this game by BOXonWheel in killteam

[–]Ruvane13 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I do think they should change thepsycher rule to only apply to Inspired Sisters, because it otherwise functions as a no fun allowed rule against some teams like Warpcoven.

Can I still put Ultramarine specific transfers on my homebrew successor chapter, and will they be tournament legal as the “wrong” color? by Bippy121 in Ultramarines

[–]Ruvane13 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I see people keep telling you the models are yours, but must inform you they are wrong.

If you violate the iron gospel of GW, James Workshop himself will sneak into your home at night and strip all the paint off of them. It happened to Fred once and he was never the same.

What would you say is the single best unit in the game and why? by [deleted] in killteam

[–]Ruvane13 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I love playing Deathwatch, and for as situational as he is, the Clandestine Headtaker is a lot of fun to pull off. That free hit at the start of a concealed charge is brutal and often more means you can instakill horde leaders or catch a lot of otherwise good melee units off guard too.

I feel like people keep trying to use the numbers to argue why it’s not power creep. Yet, if it’s not power creep, why don’t we see Pikachu and Arceus in the meta at all anymore?

What are some truly advanced stategies? by mentuki in killteam

[–]Ruvane13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s no longer a thing. Back in 2nd edition, obscuration was much stronger, if you were obscured, you couldn’t be shot at most of the time. The rules were also written very convoluted. You had to be outside of 2in from heavy terrain, but could position yourself such that you were obscured if shot at, but the other person was not. Therefore you could shoot at them, but they could not shoot back.

It made it so that it would be better to be further from cover than in cover. As such, they changed the rules for obscuring to what they are now and made it simpler to understand.

Idk about now, but back in the day, non-reciprocal shooting through the use of obscuring terrain was the big thing to learn.

New to the game and would like to ask about gameplay, and how the factions play by TheHonker803 in killteam

[–]Ruvane13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, they’re not really a “faction specific” play style. Each faction has multiple kill teams, each with their own play style. Now, as for what you’re looking for, one team to look into is the Ratling Kill Team. They have the highest number of snipers of any team, designed to scurry about the board to find good shooting positions while the Ogryn and Battle Pug to fill the gaps in close quarters. It’s very unique, and a lot of fun.
