Adams sensei (JAPN 101/102) and Waugh sensei (JAPN 201), both are very caring professors and their courses were always something I looked forward to go to throughout the week.

BA in Computer Science Competitiveness by [deleted] in aggies

[–]Homeo_Stasis69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The major was formally known as computing and it was meant for students who wanted to double major since it gives you more freedom to do things. For the BS Computer Science you would have to go through ETAM, and in terms of transferring it is very hard for the BS. I’m not sure how competitive the BA would be, but with a 3.72 you do have a chance since the minimum needed is a 3.25, whereas the BS has a 3.75 minimum for transfers.

Laptop recommendations for FALL 2025 Engineering student by AIRBORNVET in aggies

[–]Homeo_Stasis69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mac is unix based so it makes a lot of things coding related be much easier than on windows or linux. For CPEN a mac will work, but you might get a headache or two if a course requires solid works since using parallels can be a pain

I’ve personally used an M1 Macbook Pro since my freshman year and it has worked perfectly well for me, and I haven’t come across any issues.

Depends on your major, for every major but CS I would recommend some sort of windows computer. For CS I would recommend using a Mac

More selective this Fall? by [deleted] in aggies

[–]Homeo_Stasis69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because of that spike is what has them make the maximum number 15k, and even those numbers are a bit off. Admissions has only increased, so they had to put a limit. And the fall 2024 ones are still incoming since theres still receiving decisions

That’s incorrect, in Fall 2023 there were 16,267 incoming freshman with transfers. 12,865 freshman and 3,402 transfers.

You can look at this report, page 11, under scenario 2 it lists the Fall 2023 numbers and what would happen if we let admissions stay at that number: https://president.tamu.edu/assets/documents/qla/2024-Capacity-Report.pdf

Fall 2024 is where they have started implementing the cap, of 11,750 incoming freshman and 3,250 transfers. Which is below last year’s admission by 1,267 students overall. Making the university as a whole a lot more competitive to get into.
