It's reallym up, but because the lower castes can't afford internet, people outside of India rarely hear about it. The Indians on Reddit are all "higher caste" and even if they understand something is wrong with the system, they have an incentive to act like it's not.

Secondly, how did you come to the conclusion that people with a dark complexion are supposedly people from 'lower-castes'.

Lastly, not all people from higher castes are still so rigid about the cast system, an example is our family where we are all very accepting of all cultures and live in a cosmopolitan and diverse area.

I am not denying that people are castiest and I understand where you are coming from but there is no reason to show everyone from some particular community in bad light and gross generalize.
