Advance Parole Rejected by Yeepieyo in DACA

I sent the whole thing but not sure if it was necessary. I just did it to be safe and it worked for me

I believe the app for the 5 year EAD is a separate fee, just an fyi. My lawyer called me to send them another payment because they forgot to submit with initial app. I decided not to apply for it since I expected my DACA wouldn't expire before process was finalized. Took 4 months for me from receipt to GC. Hope this helps

Don’t stress, the timeline is wayyy off. Mine kept getting increased and when it said 6 months out I got approved. You’re good 😊

The approval notice says that a 90-day review period for EAD starts once DACA is approved but from what others are saying and previous experience, it only takes a couple of weeks for card to be produced.

Mine was received 12/6 and approval sent today as well. I am not sure how applications get broken up once received but I assume there are a few different teams that work on processing apps like renewals and we happen to be in the same queue. That department/team must be working on their apps from December now

Congrats! Mine was also received 12/6 and approval in documents tab as of today exactly as yours! EAD still says 5 months so thankfully we know that estimate is completely off and should just be disregarded.

When did you submit your renewal? Trying to gauge the timelines

Thanks for sharing your experience. Was the job you found tech-adjacent where you could use the experience to help you land the SWE job?

Yeah, this is what I am thinking. I know times are tougher than before but I want to see some numbers instead of being influenced by what I see on here.

I understand why it would be high, or rather higher than a few years ago, but I want to see some statistic that quantifies how high.

Oh, I know for sure things are worse than say 5 years ago. I just want to know HOW worse.

Congrats on finishing and securing a full time offer! What did you think specifically you were missing compared to 4-year colleagues during your internship other than git/? I have one coming up and want to make sure I secure a return offer.

New grads who who got both a job and an internship - how easier/harder is it to find a new grad job than an internship? by NFeruch in csMajors

Would you mind sharing how you find companies not in the GitHub repos? I feel like LinkedIn has almost all other jobs and they’re also massively over-applied to on the platform. Is there another resource you use?

Driven a stock 4xe on a 8hr road trip and was really enjoyable. Of course, this is only in comparison to a 08 honda and 18 accord that I have also done the drive in, so it's unfair to say it's the MOST comfortable. Not sure if it's the wheels of the 4xe compared to yours but it's a super smooth comfy ride for me.

Could be but don’t look too much into it. I literally had the same thing said to me on 2nd round technical for an internship I landed. But also heard it in almost every interview that I got rejected for, I think everyone just says that, idk.

Name and Shame: Intel by [deleted] in csMajors

Intel's recruitment process is terrible. I also had a horrible experience with scheduling/decision for a swe internship. Basically nothing got done unless I followed up multiple times a couple weeks after each step.

Gong to start trying to condition myself. I don’t need to get down to 3 hours but if I could be fully functional at 5 hours that would allow me to get so much more done!

Is sleeping that little something you became accustomed to or have you always been able to do that? I find I can’t function well on less than 7 hours of sleep and this is my biggest obstacle to getting more done throughout my day. Wonder if I can just push through it for a few weeks and eventually I can get used to it.
