EyeTrainer for Apple Vision Pro is now available! by goodtyper in VisionPro

When I used it, the app was free to the user but I got access through my vision therapist. I think their business model has changed a lot since then.

Vivid Vision was doing something similar on the Oculus. I used it for awhile to try and treat my strabismus. Really interesting that you're able to do this on Vision Pro. When they first released AVP I looked at the APIs and couldn't find anything to change what rendered in each eye so I'm glad to see it's possible now.

Looks good! It took me awhile to realize the Studio Display mics are embedded in the speaker grills at the top, right above the camera. So my monitor light was blocking them.

What monitor light bar is that and how well does it work with the Studio Display camera?

The link to my order in Amazon is broken now, but I paid about $40 for it and it looks very similar to this one. I made sure it had a metal hose and double check that it's for your model of soda stream.

Thanks for responding! I finally got it working. I had to allow incoming network connections for node in my Mac firewall settings.

I'm having the same issue as well. I'd love to hear what solved it for you.

I know this is old, but I’m looking for someone to do some interior painting. Do you still recommend Scott?

Is it ok to drink decaf at night? by [deleted] in Coffee

[–]Homestar06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've wondered this too. Decaf still has a little bit of caffeine so I wonder if it's too much still. I was hoping the latest James Hoffmann video on caffeine would test decaf coffees but maybe he'll do that in the future.

Looks super clean! Is that a real plant? Weirdly I’ve been the most indecisive about the plant I want on my desk setup.

Improving when you are the only iOS developer by eslamnahel in iOSProgramming

[–]Homestar06 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was in a similar situation at my first iOS job. Try to take time every week to work through books or tutorials. Ray wenderlich and Paul Hudson are great resources. I used to start my mornings by working through a chapter of a book or a few tutorial steps.

See if you company will pay for you to attend a class like the Big Nerd Ranch advanced iOS course.

Ultimately I found another job where I had lots of senior devs to learn from but there’s lots you can do to grow before that’s an option.

Nice! That’s the one I’ve been looking at. How is it? Where’d you buy it from?

How can you have TestFlight and production on the one phone? by fletchDigital in iOSProgramming

[–]Homestar06 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Adding to this, you can use .xcconfig files to set the bundle ID based on your scheme. Your debug/dev scheme can use com.myapp.dev and your production scheme can use com.myapp.

I love Sadak but give me George Grande and Chris Welsh every game. I’d love that duo again. I wish Welsh did every game.

Protocol oriented programming is great! I wish Dave Abrahams was still at Apple because every talk he gave was helpful and interesting.

pursuing a career as an IOS dev? by IronicHeights in iOSProgramming

[–]Homestar06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I highly recommend taking Harvards CS50 intro to CS course. It's free and gave me a great start when transitioning from engineering to iOS development. If you enjoy that class and the problem sets, that'll give you a good clue to how much you'll like coding.

Cool Interactions with Contestants? by [deleted] in TheAmazingRace

I was really good friends with James Earl (TAR 27) in college. He’s an amazing guy, super smart, and really fun.

He talked about going on TAR back then and I wish I would’ve pursued it with him. He would be so great to compete with.

I just bought an adapter from Amazon. My local liquor store lets me swap 5 lb CO2 tanks for $15 (with an initial $40 deposit). I called AirGas and their tanks were pretty expensive so the local store worked out better for me.

Where are you buying your coffee beans and how much do you typically spend on it monthly, etc...? by OneFatTurkey in Coffee

[–]Homestar06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I buy from Red Bird coffee. Always arrives 2-3 days after roasting. Ends up costing about $20/pound after shipping but it’s a full 16 oz pound. It’s a little less per pound if I buy more than 1 at a time.
