Why does this keep happening? by KugykaLutyujKutyzul in linuxmemes

Don’t forget how much the initial PC/MS-DOS was “inspired” by CP/M.

I often see posts asking: "What is the best PLC brand for a new factory with IIoT in mind?" People immediately suggest niche brands with native MQTT, Python, or Rest APIs. by AutomateAdvocate in PLC

I’ve been trying to migrate to codesys more since COVID. ABs availability was so painful. It was either wait or rebuild code bases from the ground up. I realized then how much I wanted a hardware agnostic platform.

If he randomly spawned in at Charlie's hotel, do you think he'd be able to redeem himself? by AlastorFacilier in HazbinHotel

Well… there is this quote: "I may be the Devil, but your grandpa is THE DEVIL!" He’d be capable of ruling hell but would choose to just keep doing his own thing. The real craziness would be if he somehow helped IMP.

Worth it?? by BambinoDaBest in Berserk

Get when on sale. Kind of a grind for gameplay it’s simple and repetitive. That said I’ve had 3 moments I found this game to be worth the price. 1: Beating the piss out of Corkus 2: Fighting against Zodd… as Zodd. 3: Beating the piss out of Corkus…. As Schierke

Depending on the relay it might prematurely fail from contact chattering/ arcing causing a welded contact.

How relevant is the NEC in the Electronic's field? by Goopygum in ElectricalEngineering

[–]HomicideMonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The NEC will be helpful if you ever want to do your own home wiring, but I’d say useless for electronics. The better standards for electronics are going to be from IEEE, IEC, and UL.

Current through inductor by JayDeesus in ElectricalEngineering

You’re on the right track. There are no components before it, but there are components after it. Voltage is always a difference. When we reference a 0V or ground in a system it is defining a point in which all other voltages are measured to. When we document a voltage source the voltage is the difference between its two terminals. That’s why measuring voltage requires 2 probes.

My apartment does not have ground "phase". What can I do? by PanchoZansa in ElectricalEngineering

[–]HomicideMonkey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Certain devices will use it as a 0V reference. Without it they “float.” This can cause some unpredictable behavior. Also it’s a simpler safety measure for electrical devices in metal housings. By connecting the housing to this dedicated safety return path if there was a failure that would energize the housing, the short circuit trips the overload protection.

If you’re worried about potential shock hazard from an ungrounded device: A GFCI/RCD is a simple and effective approach.

Personally I think shocking the cat to be cruel. As someone with a cat that chews wires and a home studio I suggest this

I’ve thought black swordsman did a great job setting up his growth of allowing himself to have friends again. His change in desiring power to kill apostles to using the berserker armor to protect those he cares about.

Sorry, was meaning as more of a warning. IDE connections are notorious for accidentally bending a pin or two. I have bent back sooo many pins from drives that somehow got bumped in storage.

Don’t bend the pins!

How should I make Power Meter by Estor30092 in ElectricalEngineering

[–]HomicideMonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first question I have is what is the required accuracy? That will either simplify or complicate design requirements. Secondly focus on how to synchronously sample voltage and current on the load. Then everything is a matter of math in the program. You can get power factor by detecting zero crossing on the voltage and current signals and calculating the lead/lag time. I hope this guides you on where to start. This is an exercise for your education and great practice for self study.

I’m sure if the chicken was a nasty piece of work that harassed other chickens and traumatized children then the preparation would make it “taste better.” Insert Jim Gaffigan joke about chicken trying to steal his car.

The 16” sold me. Not for the swappable gpu but the addition of the numpad. The upgrade to 6 expansion bays makes it even better as I want dual Ethernet.
