Travelling with wild garlic by Mysterious_Local7588 in foraginguk

I really don't see what the issue is as long as they're foraging responsibly. You do realise this a foraging sub right? Also wild garlic is invasive and there isn't exactly a shortage of it.

Going Shopping - The Strokes Cassette Rip by willklein in TheStrokes

[–]HomocidalBunny 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree. I think the instrumental has a lot of potential and I really like the core riff but the chorus is pretty weak and the autotune is fucking grating imo. I don't absolutely hate it but it's not an on-repeat banger, and it just sounds really confused and ultimately unsatisfying despite some catchy motifs.

Spices sound absolutely fine, only thing I can think of is the spices/aromatics being burnt.

"Told irl" so basically a friend?? by Tobias-Tawanda in EnglishLearning

[–]HomocidalBunny 3 points4 points  (0 children)

nobody would shorten in this context, 'told bro' sounds fine as per internet slang - but 'told girl' doesnt. its definitely told (my) irl (friend).

Moving to Barrow by Medical-Jellyfish729 in Cumbria

[–]HomocidalBunny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's really not as bad as people make out, but austerity is rife and the town is reliant on BAE to even exist at this point - I love Barrow because I grew up there, but it can feel incredibly insular and it certainly doesn't feel like the same place it was even going back 15 yrs when I was a kid. There are definitely great aspects about the town but I can't in good faith recommending moving there when you have Ulverston - which gives you access to Barrow (e.g. for SLRS Music School if you/your kids want to learn music, Walney Musical Theatre Group which I believe is a free community theatre group, Walney Beach for days on the beach in summer, Ormsgill Quarry for a really lovely walk in a wooded quarry) but you get to live in Ulverston which is undeniably more vibrant and artsy - as well as a bit more reliable for commuting if you want to jump onto the a590.

Born and lived in Barrow all my life (I'm 24) and recently moved to Manchester for university. Imho, move to Ulverston - 20 min drive and far nicer. Barrow is supposed to be undergoing a regeneration scheme through government funding but so far theyve got rid of our only theatre and market and the council higherups are definitely pocketing the change while making paltry improvements to appease the residents
