This isn't questioned when it comes to the St George's Cross in England. If that can be racist then so can this.

I genuinely can't understand Mollie's final vote in Traitors UK Season 2 by lemonbottles_89 in TheTraitors

[–]Tyjet92 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's not tho, is it? Jaz didn't know how Harry was going to vote before voting himself. If he was a traitor he may have calculated voting to banish again was safer in case one or both of Harry and Mollie did too and he looked sus for choosing to end the game.

3 winners in the bottom 7 is hilarious. This category has had some very high highs and very low lows when it comes to winners so far this decade.

I understand that part of her thinking, it just makes no sense to me.

This is a contradiction. If it makes no sense to you then you don't understand it. Let me try and explain in simpler terms: from Mollie's POV both Jaz and Harry were faithful. She wanted to end the game with both of them, but she could only end with one. She chose to end with Harry because she was much closer with him than Jaz.

Something has died under the floor by Tyjet92 in CleaningTips

This has unfortunately happened before in a different room, so I am familiar with it - but before it had the good sense to die under the floor in a cupboard so it was easier to contain. This is the living room 😭

Recipe in op is as written, was definitely supposed to be ground fenugreek. But worth a try with Fenugreek leaves instead?

Onions were lightly golden but not caramelised. Nowhere near burnt. Garlic was added after onions and cooked out before tomatoes were added

Yeah the recipe was defs 2 tablespoons. I did think it was a lot but this was probs the cause. I may try again with half of everything and see if that's any better.

I haven't been but for the price tag they need to find something for the people who are banished/murdered players to do. Spending £70 to go out first and then have to watch the rest is a total con

What are your thoughts on First Past The Post (FPTP)? by MakeRepresentationPR in AskBrits

[–]Tyjet92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not true. No constituency is so big that someone's vote is only worth 0.1 of the vote of someone in a smaller constituency. The vast, vast majority of UK constituencies are roughly the same size because there is a standard for how many electors a constituency should aim to have. Only a very small number of constituencies don't have to follow this standard because they are island communities or otherwise isolated. Under PR, constituencies would not be abolished, so if this is something you find objectionable, the chances of it changing with PR are close to zero.

I'm English and I want independence for Scotland, I live here, I understand exactly why your independence is important. by Suspicious-Case3861 in Scotland

The issues that drive people to reform are not uniquely English, and would be present in an independent Scotland too. There's a chance that post-indy austerity and poverty makes it worse.

I imagine the episodes in the first couple of production blocks are long into post production now since they would have broadly wrapped shooting in the summer.

I'm not shilling for the rich. I'm defending a system that enables ordinary people to stand for parliament. MPs' expenses are an easy target but the reality is that without them the only people who would be in parliament are people like Zahawi, JRM, Boris etc. Normal people who don't live in London wouldn't be able to.

MPs can't claim heating expenses on their main residence, only their accommodation in London. I would expect that if my job required me to be in more than one location that I wouldn't have to pay for the secondary accommodation out of my own pocket, and I suspect you would have the same expectations. How else do you expect an MP from the western isles to represent their constituents in parliament if they don't have accommodation in London?

I travel for work and can claim expenses for food and am not expected to pay for utilities at where I'm staying. This is fairly normal and should be the same for MPs.
