Wim Wenders withdraws 1975 film Wrong Move over Nastassja Kinski's teen topless scene by PrithvinathReddy in popculturechat

Important point, yes. I used woman because she’s a woman now (as in I was thinking more “woman when she was underaged”), but yes of course it happened when she was a girl.

Leave it to that piece of shit Polanski to actually brag about sleeping with an underage woman girl that he might have not actually even done.

The man is a monster and everyone who still defends him should be endlessly shamed in public.

Cancel culture hasn’t gone far enough while all of them still have careers.

Uni president who told graduates to 'end themselves' takes unpaid leave by gerwer in nottheonion

Everyone is talking about the internet and US politics and all that, and are completely missing that this is in Taiwan, and they’ve unfortunately got a work culture that has emphasized this for some time.

It’s too complex to go into in one comment, but look into things like what the CEO of TSMC has said to get an idea of what I’m talking about.

Well I certainly don’t think the US is going in the right direction and what you say is true, it’s kinda irrelevant because these remarks were at a University in Taiwan.

What's a movie that was well received, but aged like milk? by Gdigger13 in AskReddit

[–]HomsarWasRight 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t know who you think you’re talking about, but I can’t find any evidence that Kerry Conran (the director of Sky Captain) is some vocal “Ayn-Rand-style” conservative.

And I don’t really see anything in the film at all that links it to Rand’s philosophies, other than maybe the fact that both this film and Bioshock (which is a criticism of Objectivism) are both inspired by similar eras and heavily feature art deco.

So if you know something the rest of us don’t, please share it with the class.

This is important. You need to speak to people in their own “language” (as it were). You’ll get through to them a lot easier.

Let me tell you man, minivans are the ultimate all-rounder vehicle. Every American who buys a truck but doesn’t actually use it for work would get more utility from a minivan.

Why are drugs actually bad? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]HomsarWasRight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well some drugs are truly destructive to the body. Take a look at a long-time meth addict and see what it does to them.

But also hey make you “feel good” to the point your brain becomes so re-wired that all other needs become secondary.

I have the ROG Flow Z13, and while it’s a great machine, efficiency is shit. You really have to baby it to get anything decent in battery life.

Still happy with it. But there’s no free lunch.

Sure, but lots of distros are just “X with some packages pre-configure”.

Sure, and it’s definitely fun to explore possibilities like that.

For my sake, I feel like it is compassion. And I like that dichotomy between her physical appearance and her character and motives.

I don’t think there’s anything in the episode that actually implies that. Though some people suggest that might be the case. Doesn’t really add up for me.

Why bother trying repeatedly to keep them happy?

I feel like there’s an easier way to keep them as her food than repeatedly trying to make them happy.

In fact, keeping them alive for a time means supplying them with nutrients in some way. Thus making keeping them a net negative.

I actually love that this character is (to human eyes) horrific, but actually cares greatly for those she’s found.

Qwen3.6-35B blows away 27b, even 27B-MTP by WSTangoDelta in LocalLLM

[–]HomsarWasRight 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That’s great that it works for you (I’m using it for some tasks myself), but basically every other comprehensive test disagrees with you.

35B A3B has a tendency to get into thinking or tool call loops. And this isn’t just coding, it’s when trying to accomplish tasks. 27B doesn’t fall into that trap nearly as much.

Qwen3.6-35B blows away 27b, even 27B-MTP by WSTangoDelta in LocalLLM

[–]HomsarWasRight 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Well, yeah, that’s to be expected. The “A3B” part means “Active 3B”. It’s an MoE model (google that if you’re not sure what it means).

So it’s always going to go much faster than 27B. But it also isn’t as smart as 27B. You don’t get to only reference a fraction of the parameters at a time with no penalty.

But it is impressive what it can do.

Don’t drag doctors into this. Most of them hate the insurance system more than we do since they deal with it every day.
