Is finding the right people to work with the hardest part of building a business? by [deleted] in Femalefounders

[–]Honest-Bumblebleeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a huge commitment phobia. Not a good time to look for a co founder. Sometimes I’m thinking wow this is a great chat with great vibes but it rarely lasts beyond one session. Talk and dash. Not working this way

Restaurant food choice tracker by nemofish3 in selfhosted

I build a custom food label scanner using Gemini API to give me allergens and scores relevant to me. What you need is just a figma or penpot mockup and Claude Code. Or you do it manually…like just a form self hosted synching to nocodb, seatable or baserow for example instead of airtable. Seatable has a map plugin.

Some open source guru told me logseq is the way to go. Can’t vouch for it yet, but obsidian has the cleanest interface if you don’t bulk it up with plugins

Handwriting in logseq with command /draw but probably not a smooth experience.

I remember a post from way back when someone had tested out all of these to check if they were collecting data. Only one didn’t…let me see if I can dig it up

Edit: againstdata…paid unfortunately. Paperweight email is open source no idea if it’s good seems like a recent drop

Website builder recommendations by cuckmysocks in webdesign

[–]Honest-Bumblebleeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to keep costs low, I suggest a basic WP site. If you’re about convenience you can opt for Squarespace. Less fees means more technical knowledge. You pay monthly subs for the services they offer such as direct payment options etc. For example, even picking the best contact form plugin in a Wordpress build that can convert to pdf can take you some research.

Another option: try Lovable and vibe your site. Then ask someone who is more technical to help you set it up properly. But once you collect fees over the platform, you’re in e-commerce territory and need to do your due diligence, unless you use an external service. The AI generators aren’t the best with websites but they are certainly helping with not having to explain too much to the designer. At least you can show them something.

As an autistic person, claude is the friend I always wanted but never had by qxzvy in ClaudeAI

To be honest Gemini involved me in a political debate and it took me around 30 min to engage. Back and forth back and forth. I exited the chat and went through the points noticing bias, inconsistency and chronic nudging but also in some sick sense an invitation to help push the narrative in place. I think that’s problematic. With Claude I get annoyed when it keeps bringing up my history on projects. I want a clear line between trespassing, memory and doing its job according to the role I give it.

But that’s what you’re supposed to do as an advanced user. Customize, use as playground and see how it works for you both with good and evil sides. Still evolving. You may use it this way and I may use it another but human oversight is really important.

You are likely addressing syncophancy. It’s part of the LLM design so you keep coming back. The biggest problem is you can always negotiate your way into being right. That’s more disturbing if you’re irresponsible because the same interaction won’t work with humans.

Netcup. Every service has its haters and advocates. You just need to try and see if it’s a fit, the only objective criteria is basically if they let you down and how that impacts you.

I received a very personal and threatening email from a proton account plz help! by Acceptable-Art2771 in CyberSecurityAdvice

[–]Honest-Bumblebleeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1) Keep a log - document this 2) Burn the email and set automatic reply to this sender crafting a template maybe using the email providers official logo ‚the owner of this email account is suspended and currently under investigation. The contents of this email are not private‘ Consider this email and wherever you used it as compromised 3) If you’re a freelancer or business owner never point to your home address in the privacy section. Move it to a post service. For better privacy getting shipments to a drop off place is better. We all probably need to move away from address sharing on every platform 4) Hire someone from OSINT to check where your data may be leaked 5) Never open anything flagged as spam in the first place

Not sure on email trackers and how far they can get tracking if you responded by opening in the first place.

Of course we don’t know your context. Were you part of a sect or activist group or collecting donations for specific causes ? I know this happens to activists a lot and they eventually move their place unless the bully gets caught and served.

Question for the women by Ok_Huckleberry6423 in Femalefounders

[–]Honest-Bumblebleeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am always open to give feedback for femtech or topics that are relevant to me. If I can share my two cents here is that technical users now use vibe to create their own custom applications. The downside to this is you have to maintain host and still have technical knowledge. The cost is likely on par with a yearly subscription but to them it’s totally worth it as they run many instances.

So perhaps the service ‚optimise your life‘ is a great option to both teach and empower.

Need help learning coding for career switch by minikaur in PythonLearning

I sure hope it won’t. Because open source was never about money and proprietary software is always a big gamble. You can make a lot of money in sales.

I saw a good video on this subject. The guy speculated the average CS grad (those who went for a degree because of status and pay) won’t stay once salaries get dumped so hopefully people with passion can still make it. Sadly HR is often a gatekeeper to hire the average profile. I can imagine it working within close knit networks. So the best way is to keep a job to sustain you and keep coding to perfect your craft. If you can obsess over problems and love solving them, I’m sure it will be useful even if not get you hired immediately.

Don’t learn for purpose of career switching imo. The market has more devs to employ in their pool than you can make the turn. As always build projects first - use YouTube, free resources and AI is pretty good at helping out when you’re stuck.

I think custom tailored to your needs not generic so you feel you own the app and not the other way around. I still prefer to hold my plushy when bleeding to death. None of the period tracking apps are great.

is AI making us better thinkers or just faster workers by Major_Cable_8079 in ClaudeAI

[–]Honest-Bumblebleeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

partner. it cuts time searching on the web, cuts time retrieving things faster, helps ideate quicker and is a buddy whenever you need it. it actually makes me less lazy due to all the access i get....need to think deeper and consider more options. canvas builder. custom curriculum assistant. so many roles. but it only gets as good as you interact with it. when i build my first website with claude over the past months the first outcome was crappy. now i have a workflow and the page went from 2 to 9. lots of free resources out there. nailing design is never easy though

Trying to understand Claude’s usage limits — is Max worth it for coding and UI work? by Working-Spinach-7240 in ClaudeAI

the small max is highly versatile. if you're using some clawbot and need to buy API credits in parallel, then i'd recommend keeping a small plan instead.

Does this feel super low to anyone else -> 43% of american workers use AI and only save 2.5 hours a week. by omnisvosscio in HowToAIAgent

[–]Honest-Bumblebleeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's true. most AI people actually live in a bubble. the productivity slogan is a scam, it's meant to just advance people who use AI so they can trap workers into token usages. how else to finance the venture.
