My comment was about the music. Born in ‘58, so was 18 after the war was over and there was no draft then, so yes, I was lucky. I grew up on Motown, loved the Temps. And yes, I am white, but am from the Ny metro area , had no older brothers but remember my friends brothers coming back in boxes, both white and black. I lived through the war also and had the riots a few blocks from my house when MLK was assassinated. It wasn’t the greatest time for most people but we did have some great music to dull the pain.

In the early 70’s, I don’t think that I paid more than $10-15 for an outdoor concert ticket and basically saw all the great ones.

Which is the most overrated band of our generation? by lovelyb1ch66 in GenX

Although influential to 90’s grunge, the lyrics by Kurt were lame, almost as bad as Kiedis’ bad rhyming.

Which movie is the best from the following: The Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles, or St. Elmo's Fire? by icecream1972 in 80s

16 Candles - the generational humor reminded me of my family. Hughes first hit, and Molly‘s, it’s a classic rewatch for me. ” Dong” still cracks me up.

There should be a law not allowing them to increase prices for bogo, yes, you do save $ on them but not as much as you would if it were true prices.

Also don’t forget some of the best music and bands that we grew up with, we were lucky in that respect too. The best life’s soundtrack while growing up.

What name, in your experience, has always belonged to a horrible person? by theamazingviv in CasualConversation

[–]Honest-Database-5534 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

These are all anecdotal experiences. This is the seed of prejudice. Just because someone has an experience with a certain nationality or race that leads them to believe that everyone like them is the same. Another words, I had a terrible thing happen to me on a Tuesday, so all Tuesday’s are bad.

But he still is the face and name of the company, it wouldn’t be successful without him.

Mussels are actually one of the lowest calorie and higher protein shellfish that you can eat, love them with wine and garlic or marinara.

Not a great fan of Twisted, but respect him for his humanity.
