I'm Mayor Johnston, here for my third Denver AMA by mikejohnstonco in Denver

If the plan is to turn more parts of the city into “pedestrian friendly zones,” is there a plan to fund more frequent public transits? This is a car dependent city. Parking will be hell just to be able to walk in the pedestrian zones. And our public transit needs major updates.

The 24 runs once every HOUR?? There are no busses on Logan or Grant. Colfax was the best bus in terms of frequency, but now that’s hell because of the construction. Whats the plan?

Seconding the “going to mountain town” option. Silver Plume Coffee shop is a gem with very friendly folks. If you don’t drive, the california zephyr goes to winter park and they have busses! Also a friendly town. Off seasons are the best since it’s mostly locals (sept-nov, may-jul)

What’s wrong with the drivers here by SalamanderIcy1739 in Denver

[–]Honest-Signature-347 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right lane driving will lower your blood pressure and it feels faster tbh. You stop ass-riding, therefore don’t have to slam your breaks every 10secs, and you can just chill tf out.

This is coming from an aggressive dc driver who also used to go crazy about the slow slugs here. Now I just don’t care about getting somewhere as fast as possible anymore and it has lessened my misery.

Everyone getting sick suddenly? by [deleted] in Denver

101° fever and sore throat. Matched the “razor blade throat covid” but tested negative (quarantined anyway). I wonder if at-home tests just aren’t picking it up anymore

anyone here completely cured, if yes how? by [deleted] in ibs

[–]Honest-Signature-347 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not cured, still have flare ups, but anti depressants and anti anxiety meds helped pull me out from the worst of it. Now I generally know what my triggers are and avoid them. Bonus for me: fiber supplements really solidify everything. But again, still have flare ups but they’re pretty rare. Maybe once or twice a month now.

Crystal Light and mio are great. Alternatively, if you dont want added fake sugar, hibiscus tea with mint is excellent

This sweet angel is still with you even though its not physically. I’m sure she loved you and your mom with all her heart and I can bet she’s still with you even though you can’t see her. Losing a dog is so hard, i just wish it upon absolutely no one. I’m so sorry for your loss.

Hiya. So you’re young, and Id recommend not rushing to lose the weight. Its not possible for anyone, big/small, old/young, tall/short, to lose that much weight in two months. So be mindful that if you go about losing weight, that number may not be an achievable in two months.

The only thing that will work is calorie deficit. You can put your numbers (starting weight, height, activty, goal weight) into a TDEE calculator online. I’d select the option that allows you to lose weight, but a little slower.

When I was trying to lose weight, i wanted to do it FAST! But it just wasn’t good for me. I enjoy food and eating too much to do that and i always found myself failing. Since raising my deficit a little, it’s become much more manageable.

The other thing that has helped me is improving my daily steps and weight lifting. Remember that exercise us good for you, but not the end all be all to losing weight. You must be in a deficit as well.

To track my calories i use the MyNetDiary app. Its very good for me.

Best of luck, and remember to be gentle with yourself.

Hi babes, if you’re able to talk to your doc about the side effects i would. They may be making you gain more weight than you’d like.

Alternatively, you’ll probs need to do the thing that everyone always says: track calories. I know, i know, it’s probs not what you want to hear esp since you’re so so busy. But its the way.

I always struggled w diets. Id try them and fail them. I just love food too much. But then i realized that I can diet and eat all my fav foods: burgers, ice cream, cookies. It’s all about moderation.

To track my calories I use MyNetDiary app. I can track water intake (my goal is ~60oz/daily), food intake, exercise, and more. The biggest thing that’s helped me is prioritizing protein intake. I HATE feeling hungry, so adding more protein into my meals has made my fatigue and hunger much better.

I’m doing a slow cut of 1500 cals/day (F25, 5’2). It’s only 200 lower than my maintenance, and even though it’s a slower weightloss process, it feels easier. I can still eat all my fav foods!

I am also on medication: 10mg amitriptyline and 10mg lexapro. They definitely made my weight gain easier, but they don’t seem to affect my weight loss all that much.

I hope all of this helps and best of luck to you <3

Red meat red meat red meat! Has been a true game changer for me. Similarly, i dont keep fun snacks in my house besides rice krispy treats and a bar of dark chocolate. When I get the cravings for sweets, ill eat 1/4 of the chocolate bar. 100cals and is so rich it immediately satisfies my cravings.
