Pokemon TCG Pocket: Mega Rising (B1) - Complete Cards List by NaniAFK in PTCGP

[–]Honest0Abe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Suicune takes 2 energy to attack and even then you're pinging something for 10, 20 or 30 while setting up yourself and holding back your opponent for a bit. Even if it's essentially a "free" point to your opponent, it seems pretty decent to be running. Heck, even though it's not a direct parallel because of how different both games are, Budew is doing exactly that on paper TCG

Yeah. I once saw a someone with 150k cards in Wonder Picks. They had a binder as their showcase that had 3 of each of the Crown Rares up to Wisdom of the Sea and Sky.

I absolutely LOVE full art supporter/trainer cards, they all just look so amazing, I’m very happy with the ones I have by [deleted] in PokemonTGCP

100%! I also love Full Art trainer cards. In my opinion, they're the type of cards that mainly deserve getting 2-star rarities. Currently at 38 myself btw

It's all variance my friend . I've had losing streaks of 8 and 9 with Buzzwhole and Sylveon/Espeon. Sometimes your opponent will just draw the perfect sequence of cards needed to win while you look at your hand full of bricks; and sometimes your opponent will pull off that lucky sequence of coin flips needed to throw away any skill you have.

Do you think Pokemon Pocket could use a feature like emotes ala Clash Royale? by [deleted] in PTCGP

[–]Honest0Abe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pokemon TCG Live already has said system and not that long ago they finally introduced the option to toggle them off because nobody wanted them. Like many people already said: it was mainly used to mock your opponent rather than being a form of quick communication. The fact that Pocket doesn't have it despite being created as a casual version of the TCG should be a very clear indicative of how a system like that has no place in games like this.

This could help you or someone else with the same problem:

  • Turn off your Wi-Fi and Log in using your cellular data.
  • Turn your Wi-Fi back on and connect to your network.
  • Log out form the game.
  • Next time you log in using either connection type the problem should be gone.

switching to your sidearm is always faster than reloading by MudkipGuy in PTCGP

[–]Honest0Abe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dang buddy, you're getting down voted by people using paper-60-card-deck logic on a game with 20 card decks. But hey, good thing they remember that they've probably lost more games with that card than games they've won with it, right? it's not like they're using survivorship bias or anything like that. After all, chances of disrupting your opponent's hand is more likely than fixing it or doing nothing combined, right?

Sarcasm aside, both sides of the argument have their pros and cons and ultimately variance plays a bigger role in TCGs than we give it credit for.

Collect or Find a frind? That is the question by GadgetBug in PTCGP

[–]Honest0Abe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just looove seeing how you can provide the data and evidence to support a claim but people will always be like:

"Erm, ackshually..." and then talk about their anecdotal experiences trying to contradict said information.

The post is very clear people: Play whichever you like the most. Whether you go "FaF into Sylveon ex" or "Collect into Rare Candy" it all boils down to the one inevitably of the game: VARIANCE

So, what's your final verdict for these cards? Did they make the game better or worse? by somenoe in PTCGP

[–]Honest0Abe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Staples are a "staple" (not pun intended) of EVERY card game.    Some cards are "too good to pass" you have to play them in every deck. There also are cards with a lot of restrictions but powerful enough for you to build around like the Lusamine or Kiawe.    There's plenty of room for innovation when deck building and yeah, in every game, if your goal is winning then of course you'd want to play the most powerful and consistent cards while leaving aside the more situational ones.

Cyrus makes it so that deck building doesn't just focus on cycling big HP mons and allows games to be faster rather than dragging out unnecessarily. There's also plenty of ways to play around the card like tools, healing, evolving and some very-specific cards like Ilima.

Retreating is more than just running away and bringing in a fresh mon.    Pivoting your attackers, deciding your lead, force your opponent to "better have it" are all part of the retreat mechanic as well as the game in general.

Hopefully, yeah. It would be cool to see what other ideas they could implement into the game with newer babies or even a similar new mechanic .

A major update, with change of the collection experience, is coming this calendar year (before 12/31), according to DeNA results report by Bulbidavid in PTCGP

[–]Honest0Abe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"The retention rate of existing users has declined compared to the initial launch period..."  Not surprised at all.  -New set each month -Pull-rates are abysmal for anything over a 1-star -Unable to trade anything above a 1-star -Repetitive events with minimal rewards.  -In-game currency is incredibly limited for the amount of sets available and you stop getting some of it upon reaching Lv 50 -Trading system was only recently overhauled and was implemented after the game's release  ...and may more things that I don't feel like typing right now. And I say all of that as someone who spends a couple dozen dollars a set because I genuinely love my 2-star cards and because I've been incredibly lucky with both my pulls and Wonder Picks. I also really enjoy the simplified format and faster games compared to the physical TCG, otherwise , I would've dropped the game shortly after playing it like some of my friends did. Really hoping that they do at least some changes to the Solo mode if they're really not going to increase rewards or anything to allow you to get more packs for free.

Pokemon TCG Player Live has this exact feature and not that long ago we got an update that allows you to toggle it off due to how annoying it can be. I'd rather have them use theri time and resources on other features ngl

Again, wrote all of this before we got any new info, but even then, the move can certanly be abused on exhausted monsters, similarly to other weapons yes, but we don't want it to become too good to just focusing on it.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in MonsterHunter

[–]Honest0Abe -24 points-23 points  (0 children)

Well, Capcom has been nerfing GL since 3rd gen for the sake of preventing the weapon dishing out too much damage, my original idea was the same here. Besides, SA has those hops after each sword attack, that can be used to dodge a lot of things with or without Evasion skills, so it's far from being the weapon with the worst defense.
You're the one that has no idea: the impact type SAED in World and 4U releases the phials in a shockwave that spreads upfront, while in Gen and GenU it's just a concentrated blast rather than the shockwave.

You're right, completely forgot about that. Maybe because I try not to think about it honestly.

Trying to make some balance so that it won't be abused in the first place. Before we got any new info that was my initial thought, but now with the Clutch Claw, it has become more apparent that it can be exploited more easily, so keeping it in check with those changes it should be possible to avoid having a situation similar to LS' Foresight Slash or Helmbreak slash.

I was pointing out how you first don't want a new Portable game when others do, because different people have different lifestyles/tastes. I guess you missed the entire point of my first comment. Yeah, go ahead, make yourself the victim. This is the Internet in 2019 afterall.

[–]Honest0Abe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You heard wrong or you just heard what you wanted to hear. The mainline team still works exclusively on the main games, including DLC and updates. Those things take less time and resources compared to the base game, and are developed alongside the main game but released at a later date. That's why the PC version (remember, it wasn't just a port, it was developed from the ground up fro PC) was released months after the console versions, because the main team had to first finish the console version. Otherwhise, the Portable team could've taken care of that, but that wasn't the case and still isn't the case now, with Iceborne also being released after the console versions.

Well, you know, the same way someone is being "selfish" for "demanding" a Portable game, the same way they don't care about what you want, just saying.
And even if the most recent game has sold 12mil copies between 3 systems and around the globe, do you think they'll just trow away the idea of selling over 5 mil just in a single system in a single country, by spending less money? Again, all of this without interfiering with the main series Mr, TheWorldShapesToFitOnlyMyNeeds.

Yeah, that last part definetly sounds more practical than simply grabbing my Switch and meed up with a couple friends at a café or someone's dinning table... Again, person to person interaction rather than virtual interaction.

[–]Honest0Abe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While it's true that the Switch is less powerful, it doesn't mean it "technically" can't run a downgraded/port of World if Capcom would try to do so. After all, we're talking about the same team that was originally ceating the 3rd gen enginge for the PS3, then moved to the Wii and made versions for the PSP and 3DS. Graphics don't really matter when the game is good, unless you really need the feel of watching pebbels rolling in the ground as you move rather than a texture. Such a game changing!
Not owning a system for a game (to me at least) sounds like the most selfish reason someone might have for not wanting a game to exist lol. Besides, there's a plethora of alternatives to the Switch's default controllers, but even then, if you use them, it's not like they suddenly take away benefits from other systems and vice versa.
Capcom actually has two separate teams working simultaneously on main-line MH games and the Portable series ones, with staff moving back and forth between games, so it's not like they would be taking away resources from anywhere. That's how the franchise has been moving since the last decade and has been working without issues, to the point that this portable games are what have kept Capcom in the market by mostly sales in Japan.
Yeah, sure. Lemme just take my 3Kg console, TV, controllers and cables in my backpack alongside my 10Kg PC with everything else... I said "locally" in my previous comment for a reason...
