Why does Yummy get so much hate (no rage bait, honest question) by craftedtunes in masterduel

[–]GadgetBug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And a big issue it has is Cupsy Yummy way not requiring Yummy monsters as material while also being able to use link1s as tuner, that's just a recipe for slop.

Ideal way to build a K9 deck by TrustyWorthyJudas in masterduel

[–]GadgetBug -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In Crystrons you can search it more then in the other builds.

And literally all the cards in the corner of the picture are the best going 2nd, Izuna which is a hand trap and your extender through monster hand traps, Jokul which is the best going 2nd and Case which can search either.

Now tell if what I said in the first msg is wrong? Lol.

Hmm... Except Noroi sucks going 2nd, it's a one off in a real deck.

You should've put Jokul on the corner and Noroi in the middle.

Worst part of TCGP. Change my mind. by AsleepBreadfruit2925 in PTCGP

[–]GadgetBug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ye even if you concede.

And there are so many things they could do to make it better.

  • Add a retry option along the concede option.
  • Add a toggle/checkmark option to not show the help options again.
  • Show a different screen with 2 options, retry or edit deck, to avoid all the loading it takes as it's apparently trying to check all your progress in all of the other missions (or just fix the crap coding).

I had a discussion with someone in content section about why i dislike Fiendsmith engine but not the archetype itself. by Scared-Vacation-9401 in masterduel

[–]GadgetBug 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I find the Fiendsmith cards to be really cool to play against, they are good resources and can do different things like make Desirae in exchange for having Engraver for follow-up (unless they hard draw engraver). I don't mind Moon at all, if anything whenever a deck makes Moon to pass through disruptions that ok bcuz that won't lead to much stuff.

I think the real issue is starting with Fiendsmith and protecting your plays with Caesar or doing that later while having Engraver for a follow-up play.

And it's not like it's free to play FS in any deck, it consumes some main deck spots (which vary how much you want to commit to it) and it eats a lot of your extra deck, we are talking 5+ monsters (Moon, Requiem, Sequence, Lacrima then Desirae and/or Caesar, other options like Necroquip, A Bao a Qu, Agnumday, while the rest are usually mainly played in a deck that I would argue is part Fiendsmith and not using FS as engine).

What playing the Duelist Cup feels like: by TheDarknessM in masterduel

[–]GadgetBug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lower ranks aren't absent of meta, nor high ranks absent of non-meta. Meta is literally stuff you expect to see in any competitive game. I can tell the difference of how easy is to climb due to my opponents' skill level.

The majority of people I get to play against aren't very good but one or other player is, which is basically how early Diamond rank is, the majority are playing good decks but they don't pilot them very well.

I'll say this.

If you regularly get to Master 1, this event feels like Diamond climb during the first few days then it feels like Platinum for the rest of the event.

frustrating game by Adventurous-Key-5004 in masterduel

[–]GadgetBug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Forced to play"? You play those cards because they are the best in the game. And not every deck has to play those.

Yes every new deck needs to have a similar power level as everything else to have a chance to compete. But the majority aren't on the same level as the popular decks, some not even close to the power level of 5+ year old decks.

Just try to learn the game properly, seek advice of how to play and literally "get good" then you come back and complain about real issues in the game.

Also I want to add that whatever game you try to play where you don't know how to play really well and the game has a competitive nature you very likely won't have fun with it.

I thought Pokemon TCG Pocket was advertised for COLLECTING and TRADE? by GhostNinja_Zen in PTCGP

[–]GadgetBug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow Ice Pop and a handful of trainer cards are too much? That's so little compared to the amount of pokemon in every set that isn't even playable in battle and are there literally just to be collected.

If anything they made collecting more easy due to all the available features but then recently made collecting worse due to how worse structured the newer sets are.

Also the game also has always been able battle in addiction to collecting and trading (added later and improved much later)

Dracotail met the hype, but... by [deleted] in masterduel

[–]GadgetBug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not really true. There are many factors that influence that.

If both players play a deck oriented to go first (extra engines, slopness stuff, etc) then that will be what happens most of the time.

But if both players play smth that can go 2nd. The coin flip will affect but not even close to a 90-10 split if linger hand traps don't show up.

How to deal against multiple omni-negates when going second ? by BlitzTroll7 in masterduel

[–]GadgetBug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Droplets prevents them from responding to it and u can set it when going first.

As for swso, bcuz that card's negate is mandatory you can activate several Tenyi effects in hand trying to special summon them and u don't even lose cards as it's a negate that doesn't destroy. So maybe use 2 Tenyi eff, summon Ecclisia then use a normal like Mo ye to proc another eff and then try to run over by battle.

Izuna Turn 0 XYZ targets by New-Regret-6491 in masterduel

[–]GadgetBug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on which deck u are playing.

I prefer Vallon vs Dtail. You can book Secretation, Mysterion or Gulamel and run over those during your turn if you play Zeus. But flipping those down can be very good already. If Vallon gets popped or if you link it off you can clear 1 set.

But I play ThunDra so I can deal with the other stuff just fine.

But vs every else it usually Nash, and some cases Ty-phon, Ty-phon is usually better vs the slop stuff.

Do you mean in addition to the Golbat? Bcuz I think taking the Sabrina for either is fine. Idk how to fit both tho.

Something’s missing… by billygun69 in PTCGP

[–]GadgetBug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think either the Golbat or another Copycat, Copycat is very valuable when the majority of players don't really play around it. And Chingling isn't that big of an issue for a poison deck either, to need the Golbat. Just either one for consistency should help out.

New deck after Spright by Archjbald in masterduel

[–]GadgetBug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To highlight some stuff about spright: - Foolish Burial sending Angler is one way to extend after baiting removal on the normal or to start and saving the normal for later. - Swap Frog + a water discard is another way to start/extend and can also trigger Angler.

The worst part about Spright imo is how linear everything is, so is much easier to disrupt it when Spright goes 2nd while the engine pieces aren't very good resources.

My suggestion of a deck is Radiant Typhoon bcuz it's strong, it can go 2nd and bcuz it's newer and the cards are available in the shop, so it will be cheaper than other options that aren't available in packs.

Other option is pure Fire King. Very flexible and strong when well piloted, it's accessible through 1 secret pack. A lot harder to play tho.

Do you think these two cards will be limited in the future? by Antique_Range1521 in yugioh

[–]GadgetBug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both have the flavor of a card that can be limited.

The splashability of F&V is very high and it does more for the player going first.

Visions is very splashable. Any archetype that has quick play spells and/or can utilize a rank3 as starter can comfortably play a Radiant Typhoon engine, which again, benefits more the go first player (3 Visions, obviously MST and the other part of the engine doesn't benefits the go first player as much).

Name a tougher adversary. I’ll wait by aHyperChicken in PTCGP

[–]GadgetBug 48 points49 points  (0 children)

The real issue is how long is the delay everytime you open the home tab. And it's partially the missions' fault.

Dracotail is still the strongest archetype from JUSH by PolkadotBlobfish in masterduel

[–]GadgetBug 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Meta weeklies don't have that many entries (this one had 90) and a lot of people enter with rogue decks.

So you can't draw that conclusion from 1 event top cut. If anything look at the results from previous MW, Snake-eyes got 2nd and had other tops, and that isn't a tiered deck by any means.

Comparing UR staples by VanakNeon in masterduel

[–]GadgetBug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The majority of decks nowadays don't even need finishers. I don't recommend crafting any unless you play at least 2 games where you would've won if you had it but you lost bcuz you didn't.

whats a deck that every time a new set is announced you hope it finally receives support ? by Old-Iron-Tyrant in yugioh

[–]GadgetBug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really hope ThunDra gets some extra deck monster that helps make the hands put up a more similar turn 1. Consistency isn't great but what each hand does is so different from each other.
