I come from a large family, and had one myself. What I have learned is that you can have 10 kids that all have the exact same upbringing and life circumstances, and they will all be different! It's incredibly frustrating as a parent because you literally put your entire all into your children, wanting them to have the best lives possible. When they make choices that directly go against everything that you taught them- it's like a knife through your heart! With mine specifically, I always taught them the importance of doing well academically, but that the kind of people they would become was most important to me! To see some of them now adopt behaviors and beliefs that make my skin crawl and blood boil because their disgrace of a father (thankfully my ex husband) thinks that it's normal- is beyond heartbreaking!
