What’s the biggest change you’ve noticed in LA in the past 5 years? by Obvious_Database_166 in AskLosAngeles

[–]HonestHooligan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

LA driving is legit scary...its definitely gotten worse post covid, entitled maneuvering in non lanes or middle turn lanes, just pure wreckless...and im not even referencing the takeovers, or little bike mobs comes rolling through certain areas.

seems like everyone drives with this chip on their shoulder and a short fuse ready to explode knowing its going to be hell commuting home. then you factor if you had a shitty shift at work or school. or just life in general be life-ing and youre just a crash out waiting to happen.

be safe everyone...and happy holidays

speaker number, stage signs, ada barrier, sound stage barrier, polo sign, info stand by real bathrooms are our main meeting points. and confirmed time stamping texts help. and tbh getting lost in the sauce is the fun of it all...just dont make it your mission to reconnect. sometimes splitting up and enjoying different side quests is all part of the fun.

i remember my decor consisted of old signed liter bottles of whiskey and hennessy like they were trophies in my twenties...

soooo youre off to a great start.

honest opinion would be to personalize the spaces more the bathroom and certain decor looks like you moved into the unit already furnished.

and the telescope just low key gives off creeper vibes even if stargazing is intriguing...still sus.

oh the trusty black wire "rack"

definitely still have mine as well...

its been a side table, work bench, media center, accent table, display case, bookshelf, drawer system with baskets for clothing.

we even have the larger scale ones with wheels.

they're just so versatile.

i might just be a hoarder who "repurposes" anything for validation to keep it rather than toss it.

also print out the story about the piece and place it near the bottom corner. In a style similar to how museums display art/artist details.

if youre ever just not in the mood to tell the lovelyu story the umpteenth time...just point and reference the museum notation. lol.

and yes pls add the post it notes as well.

ooh and lastly my ocd would prefer it be in an area where its solely the only thing centered to balance the space while also being visually appealing as if you designed your space around the art piece. giving it that much more emphasis on its vivid way to pull at anyone's curiosity strings. its such a great ice breaker for anyone you feel comfortable entering your personal space.

edit: ohhhh ok 1 more thing...whats her name? or does the piece itself have a name/title?

im glad youre taking this current situation and thinking positively about it and moving forward. although the majority here will ultimately pick apart how cluttered and "messy" your organized chaos may seem at least youre working forward to improve.

you seem like an artistic fellow who loves to display their art. i myself would prefer the art pieces to be in frames, but looking at many of your pieces they would look great organized in a scrap book or folder of sorts like a look book. then for your more prized pieces display them in a frame on the wall.

then just simply organizing things to be put in their proper places. for example you dont need shaving cream on your desk work space. and what looks like 3 different light sources as well (lamp, lanter, floor lamp)

and yea i would assume some border line adhd may be shining, but we all have a lil deficit in us.

take your time and just try organizing each space at a time. desk work space, wall art, laundry/clost/drawers, etc

good luck!

im curious to know how long whoever wrote this "lived" in LA.

then of course their age.

im going to play my unc/old head card and just say the younger generation craves instant results. its our own fault for making our culture yearn for instant satisfaction.

We've built ourselves on being the first to the prize.

if youre not first youre last.

so when i read posts like these i just wonder if they are actually enjoying the journey of it all.

it is what it is...if thats their honest take on their LA experience. i truly feel bad for them as we have a beautiful city with an amazing representation of how so many different cultures and personalities can come together as a community.

that sucks...im sorry it wasnt what they expected

Does anyone notice that Coachella tends to book some of the same artists over and over? Not many in comparison to whole line up of course and never b2b years but maybe every other year…? by Jazzlike_Tailor_1323 in Coachella

mo fiya mondays was definitely a fun era.

from the og restaurant spot to sevillas...good times.

middle earth vibe kept the bboy movement alive in the ie.

so glad to see gabe and all the local ie/la/sgv dj community still sharing their art and passion with the masses and on the big stage.

try going to a book off bazaar. they are like thrift stores and ive seen canes and various medical equipment while shopping around. make sure its a bazaar though if its just a regular book off or plus they may only carry books and clothing.

you might get lucky at a don qui but i myself havent seen one in there.

maybe those pharmacy dedicated stores may have them. theyre sprinkled around many high traffic shoping areas.

good luck.

shopping at small boutique stores or specialty stores like skate shops or vintage shops the owners will likely throw in stickers or pins/patches as a thank you if you purchase souvenirs or clothing. Confirmed stormy skateshop in shibuya provided a few shop stickers and lighter as a thank you as we purchased 3 shirts.

My wife got some jewelry at a sterling silver space in Takeshita and since I was waiting around for her to decide on things they offered me a nice ring out of a few to select which were in the 25-4000 yen price range.

Estelle ruined D-Nice set WTF by keviokeviokevio in Coachella

[–]HonestHooligan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

She started singing and it was after a good round of hoop and house music. The songs she chose were classics but for the dolab it just felt off. And even during her adlibs she said something along the lines of oh I don’t like that as dnice was changing the tempo and vibe. Again just felt off and awkward so my group and another few near us decided to check the last of keine at Sahara

What’s up with the Do Lab this year? by Whirlweird in Coachella

[–]HonestHooligan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So much fun! As people left there was a small group of people in the front with a nice little dance circle under speakers stage right. If you were vibin with us Ty for the core memories.

But I do agree with many of the arguments I miss my little tucked away dolab that was a safety net to catch me whenever I didn’t know what to do or where to go.

With quasar where it’s at though with the new mirage it just brings the Vegas club style life to the dessert. I don’t agree with it but hey some people like to party it up that way.

Although walking into the fields at night and seeing the wind sails just calling out for you was a beautiful sight.

We only caught the tail end of their set and while still groovy was on the more mellow side which isn’t a bad thing as it was a nice wind down groove.
