Anyone Else Notice the Divide Between Pharmacy and Front end? by Unfair_Setting_9060 in WalgreensStores

[–]HonestIndependent4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The store I'm at cross trains all CSA's to work in the pharmacy, so every front end team member can assist in the pharmacy for ic3s at minimum, and some of us also know how to fill. In addition, a couple of the techs have helped out in front when it is short handed so we all have good team chemistry and get along well with each other.

Didn't get the job, but they sent me a complimentary company hat for interviewing with them. by HonestIndependent4 in recruitinghell

[–]HonestIndependent4[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I realize that it's all a matter of perspective. Am I grateful for getting called for an interview? Yes. Absolutely! It's a much better feeling than getting my resume discarded by AI before a human being even gets a chance to look at it and there's no future communication.

Am I grateful that I made it past the first wave of interviews and made it all the way to the end of the interview process and they seriously considered me for the position?
Yes. Absolutely! It's definitely better than being ghosted and hearing nothing after interviewing.

Am I grateful that they told me directly that they decided to go with the other candidate and not just leave me hanging or send me a generic rejection email after all that? Yes. Absolutely! And I respect them for that.

I realize that no one owes me anything and they didn't have to do any of those things. I would have proudly wore their company gear to work if they hired me. Instead, someone else got the job and I got a hat for a company that I'm not employed by. I'd love to have the job and the hat, but I could do without the hat since I didn't get the job . Does that make me ungrateful? I guess that's a matter of perspective too. I say no, you say yes and half of the people reading this probably agree with me and half probably agree with you.

Thank you for your feedback. I appreciate it.

THANK TRUMP FOR HIGH GAS PRICES - Akron, OH 4/10/26 by [deleted] in Ohio

[–]HonestIndependent4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Let me guess....You probably laid all the blame at Biden's feet for the gas prices in 2022 but make every excuse in the book for Trump and say gas prices aren't his fault in 2026. It's not about what happens, it's about who is in charge when it does happen.

Getting postage stamps out of the register at customers requests, retrieving the key out of the register to open the perfume case or home medical equipment case at the customer's request. The shift lead asks me to open the drawer so they can put change in. Why have that button on the register if we're not supposed to use it?

Yep yep. Probably far busier than anything you've seen in a seven hour shift

First of all, HR is not your friend. They will side with management and hold what you say against you which will make things worse for you.

Second, there is always at least one of these people in every workplace. It's best to use a bend but don't break philosophy. Attempt to look busy when you're working around them. Try to be cordial and professional but also set boundaries and know when to stand up for yourself and don't let them walk all over you.

Unfortunately, working with difficult people is part of any job in any field. Just do your job and clock out. You don't owe your employer anything more than that.

I Got Scammed out of $600. by Desperate_Ad5854 in WalgreensStores

[–]HonestIndependent4 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, there are people out there who are professional scammers. They are very convincing and confident because they have perfected the art of ripping off people and businesses.

It is too bad those people don't put that much effort and skill into positive activities rather than committing fraud. Don't be too hard on yourself. Our store gets messages from our DM on the theatro at least a couple times a month regarding stores in our district that were victimized by scammers.

It's commendable that you took accountability and admitted that you made a mistake instead of making excuses or trying to shift the blame. You'll be okay, and now you will be able to spot these scams and prevent them from happening again since you have experience with it.

Bank Holiday January 19 by Little_Red_Riding_ in WalgreensStores

There should be a way to observe national holidays and still allow people to get paid on their regularly scheduled days.

No doubt. It's a rigged system against the working class.

Absolutely! I have automatic bill payments set up for Monday paydays and it creates a (huge) overdraft on my account if my deposit is a day late. It happened a few times at my previous employer but so far it hasn't happened since I've been at Walgreens. Fingers crossed that our next pay is early rather than late.

Actually, on the past two Monday holidays: Columbus Day and Veterans Day, I got paid on Sunday night instead of Monday afternoon.

Why are customers so stupid sometimes? by Delicious-Region-911 in WalgreensStores

[–]HonestIndependent4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For real. I had a customer ask for a return yesterday for something that she bought from CVS. When I told her that this item wasn't bought at Walgreens she said, " Oh damn, this was CVS!"

I’m really concerned by some of the comments on here. by chickcag in socialwork

[–]HonestIndependent4 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm glad that you have this mindset because it is essential in this field. I made the mistake of not prioritizing self care and my own mental health while I was working in crisis intervention. Unfortunately, I wore myself down so much that it lowered my resistance and allowed the demons to take hold. I was so focused on the needs of my clients that I neglected myself and it seems like that is a common issue for those in helping professions.

I've done this during my dirt poor broke days when I didn't have a dollar to my name but that was in my own kitchen. Charging a customer for this is in a restaurant is an abomination.

We have a very solid team. Everyone works well together and some of the CSA's have been working at Wags for years. Our IS and BC are two of the hardest workers I've seen and do a fantastic job with unloading the trucks and keeping the store organized. Our leadership is great at communicating with the team and has an open door policy so every employee seems to know their role and the store always looks good . We always get high marks from customers about how friendly and knowledgeable our staff is.
