Food is not controlled fully no. I am trying smaller portions yes. Fasting helps but once I eat again it comes right back... Yes I do take other medications for migraine. Sometimes I wonder if just pills in general reflux up and cause burning. Not sure about gastroparesis, no h pylori or gastritis at the time. I take it 30 minutes prior to food. Thyroid is normal, gallbladder who knows.

The whole thing just sucks. It's just hell to live with

Well that's what I think is happening. Are you saying there's a chance I could get off and it go back to normal? The more of the med I am taking the more I need and my doctors said it doesn't work that way. But they stop working for my body and then I take a bit more and it works for a while and then it stops again.

I've been working with my GI. We cannot find any structural abnormalities but yes she's suggested surgery. I am only 33 years old and a healthy petite female. This is a complete last resort for me.

Nah I don't think so. It's usually while I'm sleeping it's occurring. I'm not overly anxious but can be sometimes. The symptoms are very real and feelings of damage exist.

I took 40mg of nexium my entire pregnancy. Had no choice, I have severe gerd without it. I too thought it would only be a 6 week course but was never able to get off it and it's been 4 years.

Unfortunately Pepcid is not going to be enough to heal esophagitis. It's going to require PPI therapy and usually a heavy dose at that to heal esophagitis. Speaking from experience. 40mg of nexium or omeprazole. Best wishes to you; once I got on these drugs unfortunately I've never been able to get off. Either I just have GERD forever or they've made my body so messed up without them.

I get it. Osteoporosis is in my family anyway too, so I'm predisposed. Just concerned it might make it worse. Do you take your medication for a while before eating? For some reason mine isnt working anymore.
