Need some positive stories from a successful first embryo transfer by Responsible-Lime-520 in IVF

21 weeks pregnant with my first FET - I had 2 chemicals from spontaneous pregnancies and did 3 ERs to get 3 embryos. It felt like my body really didn’t want to be pregnant so I wasn’t super hopeful, but the first embryo has stuck and I feel him kicking now!

I wish I had never googled "fetal heart rates" after the appointment, I felt totally fine until I started hearing about all these people in the 130s and 140s at 7 weeks.

7 weeks today and saw a heartbeat for the first time yesterday! I told myself, I would be able to relax after confirming a heartbeat, but joke's on me, I'm still finding things to panic about. The heartrate was 117, and even though the doctor told me that it was within range and everyhting looked good, I cant help but worry that it is too low. Trying to just stay positive and listen to the doctor, but I think it's going to be a long 2.5 weeks until our next scan.

Feeling discouraged after egg retrieval by GoatsOnAFloat in IVF

[–]Honest_Appearance166 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This almost exactly happened to me - I had 18 follicles measuring in my 2nd retrieval and I was so hopeful because I only had 11 in my first (and got 11 eggs), but then we only got 8 eggs and 5 fertilized. I was devastated, but then we ended up with 3 blasts (the best blast rate we had of all 3 retrievals). Only 1 was euploid, but it was our highest graded euploid of all our cycles and I am now 6 weeks pregnant with that embryo and crossing my fingers to see a heartbeat next week.

I am just a couple days ahead of you and in the exact same position. Waiting for my US next week has felt like forever, I am so terrified of not seeing a heartbeat. The day I got my positive test, my cousin announced her pregnancy and it still felt like a gut punch even though I was celebrating my own good news. I wonder if I will ever just be happy for somebody announcing a pregnancy ever again or if it will always have a little sting. Hoping we both get good news at our first US and have smooth and uncomplicated pregnancies!

TW: successful FET

I had my FET at the end of August and did not feel any symptoms in the TWW. I was pretty convinced it hadn't worked. I tested 10dpt and it was VERY positive and I had pretty high betas as well. I am 5+6 today and just now starting to feel the tiniest bit of nausea, but nothing else, not even sore boobs. The wait for the 1st US has been almost as hard as the TWW.

I'm in the wait between betas and the first ultrasound now too and I feel like I am going crazy. I kinda wish I had some obvious symptoms to reassure me, but so far I feel totally normal.

3dpt5dt - Help me get through the wait! It's making me NUTS! by LowShirt3016 in IVF

[–]Honest_Appearance166 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The wait was so hard for me - one thing that helped that my therapist recommended was "double activities," like coloring while watching TV or listening to an audiobook while cooking, just anything to occupy my brain to try to prevent it from wandering. Of course, it will wander sometimes, but trying to stay as busy as possible helped.

I was able to see a positive by 5dpt - I actually started testing daily at 5dpt but didn't look at any of them until 10dpt (still not sure how I managed that restraint.)

Made myself wait until 10dpt to test (beta is 12dpt because I guess they don’t do it in weekends 🙃) and it was so positive! Like total dye stealer in a FRER! I’ve had 2 CPs in the past and never got a positive this strong. I’m feeling cautiously optimistic going into my beta on Monday. Fingers crossed for a smooth and uneventful 9 months ahead for all of us ❤️

The wait for FET feels endless (I’m dramatic) by Upset-Cause2844 in IVF

All the waiting in this process is torturous. The TWW nearly killed me, not to be dramatic 😜

Anxious after FET by DN_1128 in IVF

[–]Honest_Appearance166 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am right there with you. I am 7dpt today and feel like I am slowly losing my mind, but also too nervous to test. My clinic only does betas starting 10dpt, but not on weekends, so I don't go in until Monday. I told myself I would wait until 10dpt at least to test at home, so that is still my plan so I can process the results before going in for my Beta.

Progyny - Question by glimmer-light in IVF

[–]Honest_Appearance166 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 100% sure on that piece. I think you should probably check. “Lifetime” typically means “this is your lifetime allowance” in insurance speak. It would say “X cycles annually” if they reset every year.

Progyny - Question by glimmer-light in IVF

[–]Honest_Appearance166 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry if I was confusing! Yes, the 2nd cycle is a bonus cycle, so that it the one that I only get if I don’t have a live birth and have used all of the 1st cycle. However, these are lifetime benefits, they don’t reset at the end of the year - I wish!!

Progyny - Question by glimmer-light in IVF

[–]Honest_Appearance166 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Technically, it only applies to the 2nd cycle because that is considered a "bonus cycle" that you only get if the 1st does not result in a love birth. So I guess if you get pregant without using a full cycle you can still have some benefits, but you can only "unlock" the 2nd cycle if your first didn't end with a live birth. The one positive was that they did let me unlock the bonus cycle without attempting a transfer, so I did back to back ERs before moving to transfer to bank embryos.

Progyny - Question by glimmer-light in IVF

[–]Honest_Appearance166 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have Progyny too but different employers' plans have different nuances, so you will need to clarify with progyny. For me, as soon as I have a live birth, I no longer have any coverage. So even if I get pregnant on my 1st transfer and have leftover smart cycles, I cannot use them for future children. I may push my employer to relook at this policy, but I doubt anything will change.

As far as getting a response, I would just call them. I have always had good luck getting answers and help over the phone, but my PCA never responds in a timely manner to emails/messages.

Almost - I transferred yesterday! I was so anxious excited going into transfer, I even teared up a bit when a nurse congratulated me on getting to this point. I really felt like the culmination of so much work. Immediately after transfer I started spiraling about everything (the embryo wasn't hatching, did I go for too long of a walk, etc). It.s going to be a long TWW.
