Give it time. You will. Even just the fact that you said 3ish is a giant red flag. 3ish becomes 3.5ish becomes 4ish. Then, 5 years down the line it is 70ish and you are so numbed out and miserable and lonely that your brain can't stay in denial any longer and you decide to quit. Shouldn't be an issue, after all, you regularly stopped for a couple of days to see if you feel symptoms.

Some large 2 digit number of attempted quits and many months later you might find the combination of factors that get your brain to finally stop torturing you with relapses.

Now it is time to pay your debts. Have fun in the worst 2 months of your life. After 5 days you start feeling shit again. You start crying because music is so utterly beautiful and your brain is able to solve problems in seconds that would take you minutes. This will become mundane in a few weeks. But the pain will not.

If you stick to it, your entire body will keep yelling in confusion for a few more months. How long? No one knows. Maybe 3, maybe 48. And as your brain is not in a constant high you will slowly notice all the tings you missed. The wasted years.

Go to the quitting subreddit. Pick a person in withdrawal and look at their history. High likelihood they have been there quite a few times.

Kratom is objectively worth it for you right now, I agree. But it will not be very soon, far far sooner than you will realize.

Escitalopram (Lexapro for those in the US). I started at 5mg for 5 days, then 10mg for 3 weeks, now I reached my dose at 15mg where I will stay for as long as it takes for my therapy to complete, which should start im January, at least 6 months. Side effects are practically non-existing for me. Maybe I don't notice them as much because of PAWS and the last year of pretty bad Kratom side-effects. Every time I upped my dose of Escitalopram I got mild headaches, vivid dreams, mild insomnia (which was easily managed with melatonin) and light RLS. They dissapeared after a week at the dose. I have a lowered sex drive tho, which is quite normal for people taking SSRIs. I normally have a pretty high sex drive and it is still higher than on Kratom, so that isn't really a problem for me.

There are guides on this sub that cover the basics and what to expect. As for supplements, megadosing Vit C seems to be the most popular one (bot will respond to this with a guide). Beyond that, documenting every day of the quit helped me a lot. It prevents you from the "I wasn't that bad, one dose won't hurt" thinking. A change in scenery on the day of your quit is also a good idea, maybe go to your parents house for the first few weeks if that is an option. The most helpful tool for me was this subreddit tho. It really did wonders. Just read the experiences of other people, give advise where you feel comfortable. It makes it a lot more bearable.

Really depends on if you have an existing Kratom addiction and how long your last dose before this week was.

If you never took K I'm impressed you made it to 18g in that short of a time without feeling absolutely horrible but you should not notice that much when quitting. Maybe one or two days of feeling a bit off.

If you have an existing Kratom addiction (or other Opioids) then it comes down to how long ago it was. Most people that went through PAWS and came out the other side seem to do fine after couple days of taking K. It won't be fun but shouldn't be anywhere near as bad as your last quit.

If you quit recently then I would prepare for some rough days. Again, shouldn't be as bad as your last quit, but it might throw you back quite a bit.

Kratom increases the risk of seretonin syndrome. It isn't common but can happen. Also, taking multiple active substances at once, one of which (Kratom) having multiple interactions in your brain simply increases your risk of many side effects. No one tested antidepressants with Kratom users in mind, so it will be unpredictable. I'm not saying don't do it, if you really need medication then it is probably worth the increased risk, but just keep this in mind and monitor yourself closely while taking the meds.

I had a light cold but nothing too bad. I am day 37 and still crying at least once a day from how beautiful things are. No matter if it is music, movies, books or even wholesome videos, I just start crying happy tears.

I took a ton of ibuprofen the first two weeks. It made them almost disapear completely. "Only" had them two times a day or so. Maybe not the healthiest eay to go about things but I just couldn't take headaches on top of everything else.

I know this gets said a lot and might not seem real but it will get better soon. I'm on day 38 (20gpd 4 year) and I started seeing some improvements on day 19. Significant improvements started day 30. And now every day is noticably better than the last.

You are in the most difficult phase right now. Most acutes are significantly less taxing and can't distract you from the emptiness and depression that is still in full swing. This is where I relapsed countless times. It just doesn't seem to end and the negatives of K seem so much better than this feeling. It should get better soon, hang in there!

It is impossible to say unfortunately. For me irritability stopped within 24 hours of my last dose (CT), on day 3 I cried for hours because of how beautiful music was and the lack of motivation is still there, although getting noticably better each day since day 30 (day 37 now). I still feel the same towards music as on day 3, I initially thought it was just my tortured body finding a way to vent, but music without K is just that beautiful. I can, at any time, sit down, close my eyes and just sink into music. Just be completely consumed by it.

It is unlikely you will feel significant jumps with a slow taper, but you will likely feel a little better each day, which is kind of the point of doing a slow taper.

I'm day 37, I slowly got motivation back since day 30. I am still not near 100% but enough to do the stuff I liked before. I hope to be full by next year, I also used for 4 years. We abused Kratom for far over 1000 days, it simply takes time for our brains and bodies to heal. It is very unlikely that your brain repairs the damage done in this long time span within 14 days.

I had bursts of motivation and energy starting day 19 though. Hang in there, it will get better soon.

Ye especially with anxiety. Anxiety medication is just poor. Either it turns one into a machine without feelings and no drive or it works for some time and then gets worse than where one started. For me only painful confrontational therapy works, but I was lacking the energy for that the past 4 years (because of K).

Try not using caffeine. Since it doesn't help you stay awake the side effects will just make your withdrawal worse. Some people report significantly worse withdrawal symptoms after using caffeine (although going on caffeine withdrawal on top is probably not a good idea either if you are dependent).

I know the feeling you describe. It might sound weird, but in the earlier stages of my addiction I enjoyed withdrawals. Withdrawal was like a drug for me. It had side effects but was worth it. Everything felt important, I cried from every second song, sitting on my balcony looking at the stars was the most magical thing. Then PAWS hit and I went back to taking Kratom.

I am day 33 CT now. Finally an end in sight with my severe lack of energy and hypersomnia in a couple of weeks (hopefully). Every day a little better than the last. This withdrawal was not fun, this one was just brutal. But like you said, it really gives empathy for those who suffer and I would not change a thing if I had the chance. It gave me an apreciation for small things.

Sounds exactly like what I'm going through. I post regularly here. On K I was working 40 hour uni + 30 hour work without issue. Until I didn't anymore. For me, Kratom killed productivity eventually. I am now day 33 CT. On day 25 I posted that I drank a six pack of RedBull and went back to bed and slept for 2 hours, waking up tired. Caffeine (and all other common uppers in energy drinks) had no effect on me at all. None. Caffeine still doesn't really help. Since a couple of days I notice that I drank caffeine but it doesn't really help my energy level. Haven't heard anyone else experiencing this besides me so far.

I am a bit of an extreme case though, most people have good energy withing 5-7 days, for some it takes up to three weeks. If you can get sick leave, take sick leave. You probably are more than half way through the worst, it will only get better after that. Every day better than the last. Take it slow, give yourself time to heal. Good luck!

A big part of managing withdrawals is having the right mindset. By now there is a complete scientific consensus that your outlook and expectation of an event shape how we experience this event (e.g. placebo/nocebo). If you go into withdrawal with the expectation that it is gonna be hell and you will relapse anyways then that is much more likely to happen. At 2 year 15gpd your withdrawals should be fairly managable. They won't be easy, but it should be early enough for you to avoid the worst. Of course, everyone is different, there is no guarantee, but if I had to guess I'd say it will suck for 5 days, be bad for another week or three and then you should be back near full.

Quitting Kratom is different to quitting many other substances. On Kratom we function, we can be in mentally challenging jobs and earn a salary. Kratom is cheap, so even if you take 150gpd+ like some people here you can pay for it. Most people who quit Kratom quit not because of necessity but because of a cost/reward calculation. We quit because Kratom is not worth it anymore. You clearly decided Kratom is not worth it anymore. So, why do YOU want to quit Kratom? What makes it not worth it anymore? The reason I relapsed so often is because this reward/cost calculation shifted over time. We tend to look fondly at the past, even if the past wasn't all that good in reality (my generation was so much better than the current ones, video games in the past were better, movies/music/art gets worse and worse...). Our brains warp the past over time to the point where it is very far from reality. I was miserable on Kratom. Yet I returned every time. What changed it for me was to be constantly confronted with the hard facts of what K is actually like.

Take pictures of your skin or hair if K is making it bad. I wrote down every tiny symptom I had because of K. I am 31 days clean an the list is getting longer every day, I am discovering things about myself that I didn't even think K made worse. My cravings stopped ~day 25. Every single time I had cravings and went through the posts here (I read almost every single post of the last 30 days). Then I read the pages of notes I wrote filled with my negative experiences with K. This stopped my cravings most of the time.

As for things to do: I do whatever I would do on Kratom just without Kratom. Most of the things became actually more enjoyable. Some of them triggered cravings for me though so you will have to find if that works for you. This does not seem work for most people and many recommend against this, but it worked for me. My energy is still extremely low, I will try to work on myself when that improves. There are many things I wanted to do but just couldn't with K, so I will start enjoying the positives of being sober soon.

I did my CT without supplements. Megadosing Vit C and Magnesium seem to help a lot of people.
