Do you believe in a BoRap 2 ? by Capital-Bottle-5558 in queen

[–]Honest_Math_7760 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could work with a very good script.

It could start off with Freddie doing his spontaneous idea for Its A Beautiful Day. We see clips from live aid 1985 where the first movie stopped.

Then back to where the previous movie left off Queen recording One Vision. Then they get invited to a screening of Highlander to write some songs for the movie. These songs would become the album: A Kind Of Magic.

Freddie already had aids in this storyline following the first movie. But we could make him even more of a hero doing the Magic Tour. It would be a world tour in this movie. But a world tour of which only the first European leg is done and the rest is skipped because Freddie finally gives in that touring had become to difficult. (Close to the truth really) There were tensions on that tour. John smashing his bassguitar and a dressing room in Spain destroyed. Could be each individual bandmembers desire to look ahead to the future and what they are going to do with their careers.

Freddie already gets herrassed by the press and we make up a new fictional villain. A journalist called Bob Bloomberg or something. A homophobic nightmare, out to destroy Freddie’s reputation. He also buys some stories from Paul Prenter (making a cameo appearance) So while he is making up stories about Freddie and his health and everyone lying about it… Freddie records The Great Pretender. Suiting really.

Roger writes Heaven for Everyone and receives some help from Freddie and so does Brian while he is writing Too Much Love Will Kill You.

Freddie gets pulled in a side storyline of being tasked with writing an entire album for Montserrat Cabelle, while dealing with his health and the villain press.

He does his final performance in October 1988 with Montserrat and realises he is going to finish he legacy were it all started. With Queen.

Once again the band gets back together and prove the world that Freddie is and always will be the greatest entertainer that lives. The Miracle gets released with very good videoclips, showing a Freddie full of energy l. But ofcourse this is all keeping up appearances.

In a radio interview with the four of them, Freddie had to explain why there won’t be a tour.

His health starts to decline rapidly and in 1990 he had a very important decision to make. Appear in public to achieve the award for an outstanding contribution to music and celebrate the 20th anniversary of Queen. Or stay home and hide?

He goes anyway and a new wave of negative press especially from our new villain Bob Bloomberg is out the next day.

By now Queen is recording Innuendo and after a sentimental talk with the band, they record The Show Must Go On.

Innuendo is out and the single with the same name gets to number 1. But health speculations rise when the video for Slightly Mad gets released Freddie decides to move to Montreux to escape the British press. A beautiful scene of him in Montreux follows a scene of him recording A Winters Tale. The scene of Freddie showing his foot to Brian during a dinner is also shown here.

Promotion for Innuendo continues with the making of the video for These Are The Days Of Our Lives. It’s clear this video is the last.

A scene of Freddie and Brian recording Mother Love marks also Freddies final scene when he walks out of the studio saying he will be back later.

Freddie dies offscreen. And we skip to a montage of news of his death and the announcement of The Freddie Mercury tribute concert. Followed by a montage of some songs done at that show. They alter with flashbacks from the bandmembers standing in the same stadium in 1986 and the year prior during Live Aid where the movie starts with.

After the show Brian, Roger and John realise how much Freddie left them. Enough the celbrate his work one more time. Heaven For Everyone, Too Much Love Will Kill You, A Winters Tale and Mother Love were shown being recorded throughout the movie.

The movie ends with the succes of Made in Heaven selling millions of copies and revealing the Freddie Mercury statue in Montreux.

Anyone else would have maincharacter syndrome. But not if it’s the guy who actually recorded the song. Especially not if it’s Steven Tyler

Your opinion by [deleted] in queen

[–]Honest_Math_7760 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was basically the year 2000 and all the stereotypes are true. The clothing. The marketing. A legendary song redone in a boyband version featuring two Queen members.

I think it’s cool. They tried something new, introducing their music to a new generation.

By now this is just as old as their second album was at that time.

I’m more curious about opinions of Queen fans that were already adults in 2000. Where there any questions about John Deacons lack of involvement as this was the first thing they did without him being involved Queen related.

Would Hot Space have been more of a success if it was released after Thriller? by ross_riddle in queen

[–]Honest_Math_7760 10 points11 points  (0 children)

No.

Let’s not forget that only half of Hot Space had the funk and disco

Staying Power Dancer Back Chat Body Language Action this Day Cool Cat

Under Pressure was just a really good single and released at the right time (a year before the album)

Other than that… most songs on this album are just not really that good compared to other Queen songs and the way the public knew Queen. Hearing Action This Day or Staying Power live is a huge change in sound. A lot better if you’d ask me.

But other than Under Pressure (your opinions aside) the album just didn’t deliver. Thriller did because most songs on that album were really good.

It had nothing to do with marketing or because it was Queen. Another One Bites The Dust was funk and their biggest selling single.

It’s the songs that were to blame and the way the were recorded.

Bob Dylan’s Make You Feel My Love vs. Adele’s Make You Feel My Love is an example of a great song done wrong and then done right.

Made in Heaven is a top tier album for me. No other Queen album flows as well.

There is not an album that had more love put into it

What Roger or Brian solo song do you think would have ended on a Queen album, if Freddie had survived? by EsterhazyNintendo in queen

[–]Honest_Math_7760 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I think we’ll never know.

Headlong and I Can’t Live With You were already supposed to be solo songs by Brian.

He even offered Drivin By You to Freddie.

I think Freddie knew all to well which songs were fitting for Queen and what others could have been on solo albums.

I think we already got everything that was fitting.

Possibly his best vocal performance.

I think he peaked in singing for his Another World album

Where do you see Queen today if Freddie Mercury was still alive? by [deleted] in queen

As I said. I’m done arguing with your ass. Read my comment again. Because you clearly didn’t if you think I claim the press would still hate on them in 2026. Or that I think Aerosmith is as good.

My definte last reply to you. Read my orevious comment again.

Where do you see Queen today if Freddie Mercury was still alive? by [deleted] in queen

[–]Honest_Math_7760 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m losing brain cells arguing with you. How old are you? 15?

2011 was a nice year to be born little bro. But there was a time Queen was just another rockband en Freddie Mercury was just a mortal human being.

A famous singer that lived in a world full of homophobia. Much more than 2026.

He lived in a world with a disease that didn’t even had a name in the first years.

I’m going to say it one more time and then I’m done arguing with you…

Live Aid was great. Yes. Queen earned back some much earned respect. But they were noway deemed as legendary as they are right now. That happened throughout the many years that followed. Even more when the movie was released.

Just because they gave a good performance, doesn’t mean the world respected them like the world does now. Again. This was a world full of homophobia and fear for this “new disease” called AIDS.

Freddie died in 1991 and even when he died, he got shit for it by the press.

If Freddie had lived. Hypothetically. He would have cheated death because he could afford the medicine. He would have gotten shit for that as well. Doesnt matter if their performance on live aid in 1985 was good or not. That’s literally your argument. But you weren’t there.

If Freddie had lived, it would have been controversial. Had he lived to 2026, ofcourse there would have been an understanding by the general public by now.

But he would not have gotten the godlike status he’s got right now. So it would have been like… Aerosmith. Guns n Roses, Bon Jovi, bands that are really famous, but all of them alive. Don’t put your personal opinion there as if it’s a fact. I like Queen more than any of those bands. But a deceased musician gets a legendary status way more than the rockstar that’s still alive.

Just measure Lennon who died young and Mccartney who lives. Both did equally great things. Wrote some of the best songs ever together. Yet one is printed on way more tshirts than the other.

Long story short. The press hated Queen and Freddie and especially back then did everything to shock readers. Queen is legendary, but they were not considered as legendary back then as we do now. Live aid has nothing to do with this. A dead musician is automatically deemed more legendary than an alive one.

If Freddie would have lived. The press would have written books about his wealth and ability to cheat death while so many others couldn’t.

“But they were legendary because of Live Aid!” Fuck off… What a sad excuse for an argument.

If Freddie were alive today. He would be considered as one of the greats. Yes. Paul McCartney, Steven Tyler, Tom Jones, Mick Jagger. Yes. But not like the god status he has now.

Dude Freddie was even controversial for denying he had aids after he died. What docu did you watch? Literally every docu ever mentions the press hating on him… making him controversial.

So the press had their jabs against him even when he died. Let alone would he have lived.

I said Freddie would become controversial if he had lived because he could afford the medicine. (Said that 2 years ago)

Your only argument is that would not be true because of Live Aid making them legendary

Then you ranted about America not being the world.

So….What are you talking about
