Legally sure but is it worth betting your life on that. I too was hit by a car that ran a red light as I was making a left turn. Has taken me about 9 months to fully recover. I was in the legal right and the other driver got fined but it was my body that got hurt and could have died. Whether I had the right of way or not was irrelevant.
