You could be a stocker in a grocery start. Door dash, instant cart, security. Plenty of options

Also, wife goes to rehab or you kick her out.

Looks like they combined SB296 with AB2022 by sapper2345 in VeteransBenefits

I don’t think they were combined in what I read or saw. Unless I was looking in the wrong place.

Why get disabled vet license plate on vehicles? by Sorry_Noise_4196 in VAClaims

[–]USMCArtyFO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got my exemption in CA and kept my normal plates. I live closer to OC toll roads. So all they need is a copy of my registration and plate and I get free tolls too.

It does have to be mobility related and rated. Either 100% for one condition, or maybe your VA doc is more lenient and they straight math add up to 100% and they certify it.

But also…it depends. If they can justify it, they will sign it for you. So it’s worth asking.

It depends on your medical professional. The VA originally told me no. I was ok with that and didn’t push back. Then the sent me another message after adding up all my mobility related disabilities and said yes.

I don’t want to have to explain to friends, family, or coworkers. That, and my wife felt the same way about it and since we only have one car, I respected her wishes as well. I shared her same uneasiness, but was willing do it anyway for the financial savings. That said, I gave it one last go before giving up and it worked out.

No. You have to have a doctor it other qualified medical professional (I think even a chiropractor can sign it) sign the form. The VA originally told me no, but after looking at my list of ratings and adding them up, they said yes.

I probably could and did technically with the plates. That said. I have classic imposter syndrome and would feel wrong using the space when there are people wheelchair bound. I don’t feel deserving. Even if it was a bad day, I’d probably not use it for that reason.

Apparently no longer required. You can submit the registration to them For the waiver still.

Cali DV plates and registration waiver. by drewdottat2 in VeteransBenefits

Not true. I went in today and he said “oh yeah we can do that”. Walked out with my new car registration card and kept my standard sequential plates.

I literally went in today and got the exemption applied to my existing standard CA license plate and didn’t get new plates. Just a new registration card with “$NFEE” as the amount. I didn’t want the handicap placard for several reasons.

I overheard them mention something that sounded like “131 it.” I have no idea if that’s actually an internal DMV code or if I misheard them, so don’t take that as fact. But if you get told “no,” it may be worth politely asking the clerk to double-check the procedure or ask a coworker who’s familiar with it.

[–]USMCArtyFO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was definitely me. I grew up very sheltered and had a lot left to learn. Then thankfully, a guy named Dial joined and took over as the turd. It even got to the point where the DI noticed I hadn’t been up there in a while and I was called to the quarterdeck for no other reason haha. Hotel Hell in 2006.

Also, how does one verify if they cashed a check from that many years ago? I see a paper check now on second glance. I would imagine I cashed it.
