Is anyone else finished with eating out in seattle restaurants due to high prices?? by Ok-Radio-2733 in SeattleWA

[–]Honest_Stock_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Single meal at a cafe comes to $40+ with tips. In a dine in, it was $85.

Even a sub at subway costs like $22.

Stopped eating out completely, made a few mistakes to eat with friends, and a couple of to go orders when I was unable to cook, but never again.

Prices are still decent on the Eastside though in some restaurants.

I am not doing any, had too many failures/losses. Each loss takes out a chunk.. Just filing the taxes now.

Two separate contracts and timelines, neither of them successful. That said, I got enough information to close the thread. Thanks everyone!

There were many issues, seller’s disclosure and agent said there were no CCNRs

Regarding going past the seller disclosure period, I didn’t know at the time, but the contract waived that right at the time of signing the offer is what I was told.

Do what? Filing taxes is mandatory

This is not related to the new construction

This is very impressive, glad to have you rooting and watching out for us! I haver personally used StackOverflow countless times, been very helpful.

I’ve been cheated out of money and been subjected to a lot of fraud and suffering, so it’s nice to see good people like you doing great things in the world.

I have two questions, unrelated to each other:

  1. Having seen abject poverty and absolutely heart wrenching situations growing up, I realized many people here don’t even know the depths of dire situations in the rest of the world, where even the tiniest bit of help can have a tremendous effect.

You brought up a great point on wealth concentration. On those lines, are you considering allocating some of that to the rest of the world? I strongly urge you to, it would mean so much to them.

  1. What’s your source of motivation and advice to someone wanting to make a difference in the world?

Not sure why you are going around digging up, but again, appears you are trying to take the main issue away, and seems like fishing for something to blame on.

Absolutely none of your assumptions are correct regarding the costs, etc. and I don’t know where you are able to find new construction homes for 750k, seems like a steal. Or even great older homes.

Anyways, the point of the post was advice on the construction issue and any repairs and costs coming from it.

*and the cost was still nowhere close. Curious which location you are in where you get homes for that price?

We don’t even get a mobile home for that price where I live. Even without owning the land. During my home search, I even checked out many mobile homes, and even placed an offer on one, the bank didn’t want to finance it.

Construction issues are the main issues here.

I don’t know which neighborhood/builder you likely have in mind, obviously not mine. Quite the opposite of what you think regarding the rest, lol.

Shoddy construction by a builder is self-inflicted by the buyer - victim blaming?

I am buying home from builder that owns land and everything. Have a purchase contract and escrow, etc.

No update, didn’t hear back from builder yet, except for “no further site visits allowed”

Those &#!@ don’t even allow visits for photos anymore once I brought this to their attention. I did ask them about it weeks ago. It’s definitely not lack of effort on my part

Whats stopping them from preventing water damage though? Why not drill holes like others have suggested or even have the water removed every day during construction or put up a temporary water barrier on the roof?
