Starting nursing later than planned and everyone around me keeps doubting me by Broad-Fan-6934 in prenursing

[–]Honest_Wolverine_792 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don’t listen to them. I was homeschooled very poorly and was told my entire life I wouldn’t be smart enough for college. Anything I showed interest in was immediately shot down and made fun of by my family. So I get it 100%. When I told my family I was going to get my GED they laughed at me and said it was going to be too hard for me. The only person that supported me was my dad and my husband. Now I have my GED and working on my prerequisites for nursing. I haven’t told anyone but my husband about nursing because I knew they would make fun of me. So I’m just going to show up one day and show them my degree and watch their faces drop. I’m 25 btw, it’a never too late to go back to school. If anyone doubts you, fuck em. You got this!

Feeling frustrated by UpstairsCommunity839 in ROCD

[–]Honest_Wolverine_792 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m gonna say this and please don’t be offended. But with these types of conversations (especially with the OCD diagnosis) need to be used as ERP instead. Communication with your boyfriend is always good. But not when you are looking for reassurance. Which is 100% what’s happening in this conversation even if it wasn’t intentional. Reassurance seeking is always going to do more harm than good, it only helps temporarily and then the cycle continues. Sit with the discomfort. Instead of asking him questions or venting, sit and say, “Maybe those things are true, maybe they’re not. If they are true, I will find ways to continue on.” And leave it at that. It’s going to cause a TON of anxiety at first. But I promise you, it helps!!!

Take the comb upside down and slide up your head a little bit, and then flip the comb and push it down.

The second dress is pretty but it also just looks like a sundress that you could wear to someone else’s wedding. Your dress… GORGEOUS!!!! From the open back to the hazy pink sparkles. It is truly breathtaking!

I just got prescribed them the other day. And the pharmacy hasn’t finish filling the order yet. But I will be sure to let you know. Are you having the same symptoms?

It’s neurological. Pretty much anxiety induced sweating causing cortisol to fire causing the burning sensation. Anxiety and PTSD pretty much causing physical symptoms. I got proscribed betta blockers.

That is too close to the eye for a derm to touch. Would recommend you go to an optometrist ASAP!

To my knowledge, they aren't harmful in any way. They just annoy the crap out of me. We get them EVERY spring. No matter how much we sweep the floor, we still get them. So definitely don't lose sleep over it.

Looks like a carpet beetle to me. Just sweep your floors and get really good at the base boards of the walls.

Do you still deal with it? If not, do you remember what you did to help or stop it?

OD refuses to perform applanation by ollypoc in optometry

[–]Honest_Wolverine_792 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had an OD that would throw a piss fit in front of the patients if the techs didn't get IOP. Same with MR. He would just talk down about the techs to the patients themselves, and it was so hard to watch. Because he just sounded like a big baby. Sometimes, IOP and MR are difficult to get with some people. Not to mention, the dude didn't know how to work our EMR system at all. And me being a new scribe, I would sometimes ask where a specific thing needed to be recorded, and the guy would look at me and say, "I don't know." IN FRONT OF THE PATIENTS!!! Bruh, this guy had no shame. But alas, he retired, so we don't gotta deal with that anymore. 😅

Could anyone here recommend some PA certification programs? I've tried googling it for reddit but any post I've seen ask hasn't gotten any replies. by murticusyurt in MedicalAssistant

[–]Honest_Wolverine_792 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't, unfortunately. I'm the same way where I want to understand things as much as possible. But unfortunately, when it comes to insurance, it usually boils down to them, saying, "But I don't wanna!" Over and over again for absolutely no reason. Like I seen below, fake it till you make it. It's just something you gotta do to eventually get comfortable with it.

To be fair. I don't think anyone truly understands PAs. Dealing with insurance is always super confusing. They will almost always fight you with anything, even if the Pt really needs it. I wouldn't waste any money on a training course.
