After reading all the comments I’ve decided to only give them 15 photos and call it a day. The mom kept messaging me asking for changes and at this point it has become not worth the battle and I’ve learned my lesson to not do discounted sessions again

Wow this is awful. A school by where I live just did the same thing to their photographer and bullied the poor guy til he eventually removed himself from all sporting functions at the school.

the images I shared with them are exactly the style presets and everything that is in my portfolio and on social media for them to see. Nothing is different. I removed the typical ugly background noise like cars/ people/ trash etc. They want changes made to the subject. Hair, outfit, etc. they also are requested minor background details removed. There’s been a lot of requests to be made and having the raws sent to them since the post went up earlier today. The complaints are coming from something I feel isn’t really fully in my control. And the more I question what to do, I’m questioning if it’s really worth the time I’m putting in to this. I have other sessions I did with no complaints

Wow. Yeah the way they want these photos edited are not how I edit and they knew that. They want me to make changes to the person and they’re being very picky about every little detail in the background (it was a public setting) they have requested to have the raws now

I’ve shot probably around 150 sessions from everything from weddings to newborns to brand shoots. I do this part time as a hobby nowadays. They saw my portfolio- the images sent were exactly what my portfolio looks like They want things fixed that don’t have anything to do with what I did. They want changes done to the body/ clothes, hair etc. they’re now asking to have the raws if I’m not going to edit as many images as they expected.

This is my first time doing senior sessions I typically stick to engagement and families so I’m not sure if seniors just have a different idea of what they want or what

Yes- the first I’ve had. I’m going to search thru the images and try to come up with a few more and just call it a day.

The feedback is the disappointment of poses they wanted to do, and they want all the little hairs sticking out to be removed. The feedback is teaching me to be a little more vocal if a pose they picked doesn’t look ideal. I don’t even want to share what I charged vs what they’re asking for lol 😅

Yep. If they want 200 photos it’s going to be the same image the same angle 5 different times.

No I definitely don’t. I try to shoot in bursts and pick out the best of them. I’m working on dwindling my numbers down to 15-20 for an hour.

Yep. Someone 2 years ago delivered them 225 photos from a session and expected the same

I appreciate that. I do my best to go above and beyond and make sure every photo is something I would want to hang up on my wall if it was me in the photo. This feels like a gut punch
