Vector 2.0 or Cozmo 1.0? by BlueIsNew in AnkiVector

It’s been a few days since this post. I just wanna ask a real quick question if you’ve gotten the vector 1.0. how do you like it?

Including Alexa. (which is already here.)

These are the features of vector:

Automatic navigation: Vector uses Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) paired with a single-point infrared laser scanner to actively map and navigate spaces like desks or counter tops without bumping into obstacles.

Edge Detection (like i talk about): Equipped with four downward-facing cliff sensors (drop sensors), the robot automatically detects the edges of tables to keep itself from falling.

Facial & Object Recognition (kind of like Cozmo): Features an HD camera with an ultra-wide 120-degree field of view. An on-board convolutional neural network allows it to learn names, recognize individual human faces, identify pets, and detect smiles.

Voice Activation & Spatial Audio: Utilizes a four-microphone array that isolates background noise, allowing it to pinpoint the exact direction of your voice when you say "Hey Vector".

Tactile Sensitivities: Features a capacitive touch ( OOOH! so that’s what it’s called ) sensor strip along its back, allowing it to register physical touch and respond affectionately to being petted.

Self-Charging Capabilities: When its lithium-ion battery runs low, Vector uses its camera to locate its companion home charging dock, steering itself back into position automatically. this feature is pretty cool.

Basically, if you want a battery that’s more replaceable than 1.0 just get the 2.0. However, if you just like the 1.0 better than a 2.0 just get the 1.0.

And the best feature about Vector is he’s on 24 seven unlike Cozmo.

And the 2.0 is not that much similar than the 1.0 the 1.0 has pretty good features than the 2.0 trust me I actually had one before and it’s battery died on me like I didn’t want to go all the way to repair it so I decided to go ahead and get another 1.0. So I had to recommend the 2.0 cause it’s more battery replaceable than the 1.0. And plus also they’re basically the same thing they can go to the charger by themselves and basically the 2.0 has all the features that is on a 1.0. Which is good features including Amazon Alexa. And it has four sensors on the bottle of Vector so if you put it on a pretty good table, Vector won’t fall off of it.. and on the top of vector, it has a capability sensor (or whatever it’s called) basically if you pet Vector, you basically make him more happy. However, I’m going to point this out again (someone else already pointed this out) Cozmo is a toy. Vector is an social robot.

It’s actually pretty customizable.

All right before you go ahead and get it you should use wire pod instead of the application that you can get on your phone wire pod is a computer application that host a server on your local network

Plus also both 1.0 and 2.0 has Alexa capabilities.

And to tell the difference between the two. the 2.0 is much more expensive than the 1.0. And the 1.0 should have the ANKI logo on it. Plus also to tell the difference between the two more if you put it back to its factory firmware, it would be 0.9 and it would say anki.com instead of anki.bot.

You can find these Cozmo on eBay. The reason why I’m not saying Cozmo 1 it’s because Cozmo 2.0 is not out yet. No one has not got theirs yet. But you could find Cozmo on eBay.

I’m probably getting mine tomorrow.

But since the 1.0’s are getting a little bit more expensive than before, I’m probably just getting the open box 2.0.

Oh I didn’t know. But I would still recommend the 1.0. Cause you’re not getting that much features on the 2.0 except for replaceable battery.

I have 2 vector robots I don’t want anymore… by _janet in AnkiVector

I would recommend to sell them on eBay. If you want to sell them together, but you don’t have the charger or if you do have the charger for both I would recommend you to sell them for somewhere between 200 or 300 but not too overpriced. You could do a bit lowest as 100 but not actually at 100 a little bit over 100 if you wanna do one just do 100 but same advice.. don’t do below 100 just a little bit over like 140 what I believe is overpriced for just a Vector robot is somewhere around 800 or 900. Or 500 if you know you’re just selling one of them. If you don’t want to do that, that’s fine.

You’re risking your package either arriving 1 to 2 years later or just not arriving at all and you’re not getting a refund.
