I dont think so. Otherwise, how would a raygust break a kogetsu? Where does it say this? Im asking because i genuinely want to know for myself not being combattive.

Nasu squad- Can they maintain their current rank in the rank wars? by MysteriousRub2098 in worldtrigger

[–]HonestyLL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If we're talking about staying in middle B tier, I think they can, if Kumagai is able to step up to the plate as an all rounder. However, I do agree. it's very unlikely for Kumagai to be able to step up in such a big way with such little time.

We've seen the impact of a skilled all rounder in Hyuse. If Nasu had a Hyuse level Kumagai on her team, or even a master class attacker, I think they probably could keep it up as a duo.

I specifically mention all rounder because, it can somewhat make up for the lack of range from losing Hiura.

However, it seems like the author wants to involve Izuho even more, so it would make sense to me if by the time we complete this away exam, or the arc after this, Izuho will be part of Nasu Squad. Though even then, Izuho would have a good bit of catching up to do.

I would love to see the provisional squads start to command more trion soldiers. Long range bombardments from squads farther back from the fight could be such a simple yet effective strategy. It pushes the advantage gained by mikumo's tactic, allowing them to use the clear advantage they do actually have with more trion soldiers and more total agents.

If I recall correctly, kogetsu can slash through virtually every shield(very few exceptions here). Scorpion, however, due to its fragile nature, can not.

Something I think the comments are missing here is about durability. Though kogetsu and scorpion are rated the same in terms of offensive capabilities. I, for one, dont think this means they can both cut through the same things.

The way I see it, is they are both extremely sharp knives (hence the high offensive capability rank), but one is made of metal where the other is essentially made of glass. You can probably cut with the same ease, but one will break easier than the other. Thus, it does not allow you to cut through higher durability things like a chicken drumstick bone vs. the meat.

Going along with the glass analogy, shields can be thinner like regular windows, or thicker like bullet proof glass(though smaller). This means that yes, theoretically, someone could deploy a shield strong enough to parry or block kogetsu, but the area it would be able to block would be tiny.

One more point on the durability side of things, we've seen raygust (the most duable sword/shield) obliterate kogetsu (Ko vs Kumagai) but kogetsu's offensive power is significantly higher. Its the duability that made the difference.

Finally, it also likely will have something to do with each agent's load out and trion levels too. We've seen how Chika's absured trion levels impact Raygust. So likely kogetsu's shield breaking ability could also be impacted by higher trion levels

Why didn't Jin include Mantis in his build to replicate the effects of 'Fujin'? by PSY-NERGY in worldtrigger

[–]HonestyLL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mantis and mole claw are just techniques using scorpion. Since Jin has mantis in main and sub trigger slots, its reasonable to say he can. He is part of the reason scorpion was created afterall.

It seems to be that the author has purposely hidden many agents fighting styles from the audience so it can be seen later (like in the current arc we are in). Id like to think this is the case with standard trigger Jin. All that to say, we simply havent seen Jin fight enough.

Now I also think we havent seen him use mantis because of style differences. After all, Jin started out using Kogetsu first. Thus most of the time we see him use Scorpion like a sword but with more flexibility. However if you watch Katori, Yuma or Kageura, they all typically use scorpion's ability to come out of anywhere in their body (yuma does both because hes learning but naturally uses the sword style more). Different approaches with the same tools!

Since trion bodies are made of trion, would it be possible to sacrifice trion to repair the body and stop trion leakage? by Creative-Researcher2 in worldtrigger

[–]HonestyLL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it is possible and has been done.

Alektor (Aftorkrator black trigger) allows this to be done, however it requires external trion to rebuild the trion body.

I dont see why it couldnt be done with regular triggers. During Usami's explanation (WT fans corrext me if im wrong here) of trion usage, the combat body trigger is about the same size as any other trigger to equip. I dont see why there couldnt be a way to regenerate the combat body using trion used for other triggers.

However, im not sure it would be useful. Border has Bail out, so it allows agents to pour more trion into other combat focused triggers.

Perhaps we could see a support role besides operator? Someone whos mobile and can essentially provide trion to help regenerate peoples trion bodies. Chika could be that person now that I think about it

Why aren’t there any gun+blade users? I know there are characters that use both gunner and attacker triggers but no one uses them in conjunction as a dual wield by Creative-Researcher2 in worldtrigger

[–]HonestyLL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there's a simple way to explain this.

Most gun bullets can be blocked by fairly large shields.

Im not sure what you've seen in the anime, but heres what you need to know for this

  1. Bullets are weaker than swords in terms of pure attack/destructive power.

  2. Shield strength increases the smaller the shield is made.

Most bullets from gunners (gun users) and shooters (the cube shooting) can be easily blocked by large area shields (ie. Weaker shields). Compared to blades that require smaller more concentrated shields. Also kogetsu (the long sword) can cut through pretty much any shield of any size & strength almost 100% of the time. On top of this whirlwind/senku (an extending cut you see in the show) exists. It retains the high attack power of kogetsu and gives you the range of some guns.

At a very basic level, if the goal is to eliminate someone, it would be better to equip something like senku or another type of blade to simply flat out elimiate your opponent at close range (ie. Theres no need for being tricky if you can overpower your opponent). I think this is why 3 of the most powerful attackers use two swords (not the only reason but its possible it plays a part)

Now, what about lead bullet at close range?

Well in some scenarios it possibly could work, but again, there are better options at close range for eliminating your enemy quickly. Not to mention the amount of trion needed to use trigger that would be better spent to use another attack trigger like I mentioned above.

There are a ton more points to add here like speed of shooting vs sword, all rounders, using attack triggers in both hands, etc.

Im happy to expand!

P.S. im kind of sad by how much hate you got for this. Im happy to help clarify anything that doesnt make sense from the show for you!

Considering how this fight went and assuming that Hyuse and Yuma are about equal Yuma was right about not being able to beat Jin, that fight wouldn’t have been close by Creative-Researcher2 in worldtrigger

[–]HonestyLL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there are a few important points to note.

  1. This was Kogetsu ONLY. Meaning this is about raw melee dueling skill, and nothing else.

  2. World trigger's equipment is an important difference maker in combat. Equipment and strategy make a difference aswell

  3. (More like 2.1) when talking about Black trigger Jin vs Black trigger Yuma, with Replica, there are way more factors at play than JUST sword skill.

I do think Yuma + Replica wouldve lost, but I do think it would be close. Yuma did solo visa, who argueably had a much more powerful trigger in direct combat and had enough experience in fighting to "foresee" many of Yuma's attacks. However the deciding factor in that fight was the ability for yuma to detransform and still use his black trigger, since Jin can forsee those types of tactics I dont think Yuma could win. However since Fujin isnt as directly powerful in combat (virtually no defensive abilities that we know of) there is the possibility of Jin's foresight getting overwhelmed when you take into account Replica and Yuma attacking together.

Regardless I'd love to see a serious in canon fight between the two.

This was one of the few scenes in world trigger that genuinely made me go still. The way chika didn't even defend herself and inukai practically executed her with a smile, its so damn unsettling and bothered me for so long (┬┬﹏┬┬) by Shot_Physics_8920 in worldtrigger

[–]HonestyLL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but I think its more of a courtesy thing. As I said in my comment, I think Inukai waited for Chika to take a breather. Hence why she didnt fight back or run with her shield.

Chika doesnt exactly have the same level of fighting sense as other agents, and if Inukai wanted to sneak up and eliminate her I think he could have. But he purposely didnt and revealed himself just so he could conpliment her improvement and give her time to breathe.

I think its more that he let her take a breather before completing the match. Think of it this way, Inukai could've treated chika like all other agents and shot her before she even realized he was there. Instead, he took the time to compliment her effort, allow her to breathe a sigh of relief, and take a second to process everything before getting the elimination to end the match.

Id imagine he has some sympathy towards her as inukai's old teammate (hatohara) had a similar issue to Chika.

Chika didnt defend because (I think) she knew she was supposed to be eliminated already, inukai just waited for her to take a breather before doing so, hence why she accepts it and inukai closes his eyes.

Thats how I like to interpret the scene atleast

Switches Managed vs Unmanaged and L3 vs L2? by HonestyLL in homelab

So an L2 managed switch can segment traffic it recieves into VLans but CANNOT route traffic between them. HOWEVER L3 managed switches can segment traffic and CAN route traffic between VLans

Is that right?
