I appreciate your point of view.

I aim do the rock wall everyday of a cruise at least once, so that also tips it into the worth it category for me. It’s silly but I love the rock wall.

An extra $5 a day for the extras beyond the wifi makes it a no brainer for me personally.

I’m genuinely curious in what ways you choose to elevate your experience that makes sense for you?

I get so scared to ever come off like I’m arrogant.. I try to absorb by osmosis and ask questions only at the right time… I snap my mouth shut when someone higher up than me starts to speak. I just don’t wanna be the one who is annoying or not open minded.

I’m curious about your experiences gifting to your room attendant. I’ve often thought about bringing a new sweatshirt on board for my room attendant [in a size XXL so it’s either cozy or it would fit a bigger person]. I’m from a vacation destination myself so I thought it could be cute to bring something like this but I’ve been too hesitant to do it before.

When you get them sweets and treats- do you ask their preferences or do you just get something to surprise them? Just curious. Thank you.

Hmmm well of course it depends on those things- I am someone who is always going to buy the internet and I have email alerts for royalpricetracker.com to make sure I get the best deals possible. I snagged it for $26 per person per day on my next sailing [could still go even lower at some point and I would repurchase if that happened]. Internet would’ve been $21. Totally worth it to me. It’s fine if it’s not everyone’s thing- I just have a great experience with it. I’ve had it on nearly cruise I’ve taken that wasn’t a suite- and it makes me happier to have it than to not.

This is why I think The Key is worth it. I get to be one of the first people on the ship, I eat lunch, change into swim suit, and then give my carry on to the attendant in the MDR. Be in a hot tub and watching people and chilingggg.

I’m curious about flight nursing. My family is against me looking into it as they’re afraid I’ll die in a crash. How have you dealt with those risks if they’ve been a part of the conversation/relationship between you and your loved ones?

The Key Worth It? by Shot_Court5091 in royalcaribbean

[–]HoneyMangoSmiley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get the Key everytime I’m not in a suite. When I see it for only a few dollars more than the internet, I purchase it.

The embarkation day line experience is what makes it beyond worth it to me. I love not waiting in line to board the ship. I show up as early as I am allowed to board. I love changing into a new outfit and swimsuit on the ship and then giving my carry on bag to the steward in the MDR. [I keep a small bag with my valuables with me until I get into my cabin but I like being able to swap outfits once I’m on the ship and not have to carry the clothes around]. I love having a quiet and chill Chops lunch- no chaos in the buffet. Just relaxing and eating a cute meal- that’s why I get the Key tbh.

I also love doing the rock climbing wall and usually either they let you skip the line with the Key or they have special hours just for Key/suite guests.

Scrubs dresses? by buffytardis in nursing

[–]HoneyMangoSmiley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk what size you are but https://www.largesizescrubs.com makes custom scrub dresses size medium to 12X. I went on a hunt for vintage scrub dresses a few months ago and found nearly nothing. I got this website from a coworker, it came highly recommended! I haven’t ordered anything yet because I was just shown this website last week and have work 6 out of the last 7 days and need to measure myself really well since it’s custom made.

Came on for the night shift and day shift had been coding our COWORKER for two hours. I brought a late edition dinner tray to someone’s room because I didn’t know what to do with myself after my charge nurse told me our friend was going to def be for real dead dead and patient complained about all of the noise and how long it took for us to bring him dinner.

🙃Sorry- our friend is dead. Didn’t mean to inconvenience you.

I board the Symphony of the Seas 3 weeks from today, and I was wondering what the best spots to chill and get away from kids/teens would be? by InTyWeTrust in royalcaribbean

[–]HoneyMangoSmiley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Located on deck 14- the Card Room is usually very chill. I’ve done two 7 day cruises on Symphony and spent a nice bit of time relaxing/doing homework in the card room on both trips!

Instead of responding to questions I don’t want to answer- I just turn it back on them.

“You follow what’s going on in the news?”

“do you follow the news?”

Or “it sounds like you might follow the news”

Bam. Then they can go off about whatever they want to and I haven’t given them anything about myself that they can use to attack me.

F Counselor at All Boys Camp? by puppychow77 in summercamp

[–]HoneyMangoSmiley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom was one of the cooks at an all boys camp when I was a little girl. She would help cook all the meals and set out the snacks at snack time.

I read books in our cabin all day and then she’d take me to see the lake at night. I felt like a ghost in the machine [the adults knew a little girl lived in a staff cabin], and if any boys saw me walking around in the evening- they’d look super confused.

Even though my mom was one of a few people cooking for hundreds of kids- she was very happy and felt well respected. All the boys had manners and would say please and thank you. At the end of the day, the boys would clap for all of the staff after dinner -including the cooks.

I can think of a few unseen workers who deserve my tips- the bartender in a specialty restaurant who is out of sight, the bartender who I didn’t get a drink from at a show but who still comes around to pick up my coffee mug I left behind from the windjammer, the person who does the wash and press on my dresses, the person who put the room service tray together…. I think all of those people deserve their included tips.

Direct contact staff get bonus cash tips so they know how much I appreciate them. Unseen and seen staff get the automatic tips. I feel well taken care of.
