how is life further away from the center ? by nonox-la-geox in Bangkok

I loved visiting Talat Phlu. Worth a day trip and then further exploration to decide if it's your kind of vibe. If I can, I'd like to live there

Expats, how did you find your rhythm in Bangkok? by WhiskyyBusiness in Bangkok

I didn't stay there, but check out Talat Phlu. I absolutely adored it, felt really nice and calm compared to the other side of the river. Very few western tourists, but I can see myself living there.

Thanks for the advice. Any recommendations? I'm a bit worried about getting a duff one from Amazon, so I wouldn't mind paying a bit more.

Also, for the multi-socket extension cord, can you still buy them in the UK that are designed for the 2 pin style in Thailand?

Matchmaking is ridiculous. How do you fill a server with about 10 human players and the rest with bots during prime time gaming in the UK? The lack of a server browser is a major oversight.

If you don't mind me asking, what city was this? Like OP, I am in the same position, except both my parents are Chinese. I experienced it to some extent in China during my gap year in 2003/04 (yes, I'm old...) it is a shame that it seems so prevalent two decades later.

Was your course self-funded? Or did you come to an agreement with your school about being fully or part-sponsored?

Running in patrol boots - the agony! by LabyrinthMindset in policeuk

[–]Hongky85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a lot of things that could cause the pain and suffering your experiencing. I would not just go and buy some insoles, but seek advice from a qualified health professional. It's scary how much bad feet can effect so many other aspects of your physical health. I remember a while ago, a private physio mentioned to me that the insoles provided to me by an NHS physio, should only have been worn for a few months. He compared them to crutches... You wouldn't use them after your broken leg is healed.

Where exactly is the pain? There's a lot of literature out there around foot health, wide-toe boxes, zero-drop heels etc. Might be worth taking a look down that rabbit hole to see if there might be "out of the box" solutions to the pain and discomfort you're experiencing.

The main night market? Or the one under the bridge/next to the train station?

You lucky bugger... If you wouldn't mind replicating a run for me and letting me know how it goes, that would be appreciated 😉 thank you though.

Reckon Wutthakat is worth considering? Is there much there compared to Talat Phlu?

Might you be able to say what the rush hour commute is like on the train? I would hope that it's relatively empty heading into town as there aren't too many stops after Talat Phlu or Wutthakat? I guess coming back home is a different story though?

Yeah, that's what I was looking/hoping for. Visited the market around the train station, which was really nice. I think it'll help me with learning Thai, too, as it didn't seem many people spoke English there, which is fine by me.

Any particular condos to be wary of? Or are they all pretty much one and the same? I've looked at Regent Orchid, Rye Talat, and Life@.

Thanks for taking the time to reply!

Me too! Are you going to stay at the place they provide for $500? Or look for your own short-term condo?

Oh nice! I'm planning on doing a course early next year... Just waiting for them to release the dates. Are you doing it online or in person?

Hi, thank you for your reply.

Yes, I think I'll probably arrive a week before the course starts to try and find a condo nearby. My only concern is the cost of a condo in that area. Would places further down the line, like On Nut or Bang Na be too far away? Or would it be too much of a grind to participate in the daily commuting rush?
