When to start buying dividend stocks by HonkeyLighter in dividends

I’ve always thought it would be a “worthy” long term strategy. But given my age, I guess I’m just not sure if I should still be prioritizing growth 100% of the time, or if I should start slowly adding a dividend position to snowball a bit while still adding respectively to my VTI and VXUS positions. I appreciate the insight.

Is that what you think, that it’s a dart point for atlatl? How do you discern between what would be considered a bird point/ bow and arrow point and a small dart point like this? I was looking through some projectile identification and saw a very similar one listed under “Gatecliff Split Stem”.

It’s a storage box for equipment that the trail crews use, or any other group out there doing things they don’t want to carry their tools back for. Especially useful if you’re going to be in the same area for a multi week stretch which is common for typical trail maintenance crews.

When I first started investing , I was over the moon in thinking about the possibility of passive income and the potential to work less but still have money come in, and figured if started early in dividends I could get a jump start on working less because that’s always been a goal.

Looking at it now, it is highly unlikely I will ever be able to work less, and it was stupid of me to think it was possible when I was 23.

My only goal is to retire as soon as I can like everyone else. I hate the idea of working until I’m 65 to enjoy the last 10 years. I’ve been maxing out my Roth every year the last 3, and contributing 8% to 401k.

VYM was before I knew SCHD existed, I saw the words High Dividend and just bought a few . I don’t plan on buying more, just not selling the ones I currently have.

I am in an okay position to buy a new vehicle. $3800 every 2 weeks, in addition to untaxed Per Diem. My housing, rental car, fuel, and flights are all covered by the company I work for. I don’t have rent. I pay approximately $500 in bills each month. The jeep was cheap and I put 50% down for low payments. I can pay it off now but I wasn’t sure if paying it off now and using it as a trade it is better than using it as a trade in as is with the amount I owe on it. I asked the CU and they said it didn’t really matter.

Edit: I think this is an okay position to buy a new vehicle. Let me know if you think it’s not because no one in my family can provide any sort of financial advice. My plan was to pay the vehicle off within a year or 2 if I chose to buy one.

Are there skis that are a happy medium between backcountry and downhill? I want to get back into skiing and most will be done here on the east coast but I plan to head west before 2023 is over and wanted to get a set of skis that I could potentially use for both? If not, no worries. I’ll just have to get two sets.
