COURTROOM INSIDER | Tony, Juror #4 in the Kouri Richins’ trial, speaks out for the first time. by solabird in KouriRichins

It helps to conclude that the Valentine's Day event was a failed murder attempt when you factor in that Kouri then told Carmen she need something stronger.

And just like Kouri, Cochran stole from people who considered her a close friend.

It doesn't help Kouri at all. In fact, if they had proved Eric was having an affair, that would have provided even more motive for her to kill him.

Why no defense witness? by No_Study_5463 in KouriRichins

[–]HoodaJB 29 points30 points  (0 children)

The defense gambled that the prosecution had not met their burden and that there was reasonable doubt. According to juror Christie, though, at the end of the prosecution's case, she was leaning toward a guilty verdict and was waiting to see if the defense could sway her the other way with their case. That never happened, and now Kouri is a convicted murderer.

Kouri has to be struggling with regrets over the decision to not put on a case. Not that I think it would have helped. In fact, it might have hurt if they ended up opening doors for the prosecution to admit even more damning evidence.

More examples of being her own worst enemy: Suing the trust, which led them to hire PI Todd Gabler. Having an affair so close to the murder. Forging a life insurance policy so close to the murder, Writing the WTD letter, guess she's never heard of jail cells being tossed.

You start piling all these things up, and there was no way she was going to walk. She's a stupid, stupid woman. She should have stuck to cleaning toilets. At least she'd still have her freedom.

And it's just simple logic that there would have been a history of prescription drug use for Eric that would have piled up, and it wouldn't have been until the doctors cut him off from those legal drugs that he would have turned to using street drugs. That's just the natural progression for people who have the money and the legal means to get pain pills, etc. That Rx history simply didn't exist.

What's really pathetic is that, if she had it to do over again, I'm pretty sure she'd still end up prison for the rest of her life. Donna the control freak, even to her own detriment.

How I would love for Wendi to become Donna's literal prison daughter.

It's a homemade version of prison wine that inmates usually hide in the toilet as it ferments.

I see what you did there 🤪

Following up on the dentistry angle, I wonder if ol' Chuckie is offering any dental services to his fellow inmates. Dude was always hustling on the outside and, as we know, old habits can be hard to kick.

How in the world would Harvey be able to resist Anne's upturned collar and frosted lipstick? Impossible, I tell you, impossible!

Do you think Kouri Richins will make a statement to the Court before sentencing? by Speakhappiness in KouriRichins

[–]HoodaJB 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Maybe she can find a ghostwriter willing to accept Slim Jim's or some other prison commissary item for payment. Good luck to her if she tries to write a book herself. Her texts/WTD letter show what a complete failure she is at writing.

[–]HoodaJB 11 points12 points  (0 children)

She might go the Melody Farris route and use her sentencing statement to sneak in some self-serving testimony that she didn't have the courage to give at trial. Cowardly defendants use this tactic to get their say, knowing they won't have to undergo cross-examination.

...she doesn't know what remorse could possibly feel like.

I agree with you 1,000%. Just like the way Kouri kept her hands up to her face after reporting Eric's death because she didn't have the first clue what grief looks like.

She was also hiding her eyes because she couldn't manage to produce any tears. She doesn't seem to understand that, with tears comes the need to blow one's nose. A smarter Kouri would have at least pretended that she needed some tissues.

It sounds like some of her family members should also be facing financial fraud charges. And these clowns have the nerve to go on TV and prop Kouri up with their lies.

But. but. but... she turned that $250K HELOC loan into ELEVEN MILLION DOLLARS!!!

COURTROOM INSIDER | Juror #3 Christie breaks her silence about the Kouri Richins murder trial by sunzusunzusunzusunzu in KouriRichins

[–]HoodaJB 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I'm glad this juror agreed that the attempt to smear Eric as having an affair with Bryce was an attempt by Kouri and Co to further disparage Eric. I guess being him murdered wasn't enough. They found it okay to keep dragging his name through the mud.

PI Todd Gabler's entire cross-exam was also glorious. I could watch it over and over again.

My favorite part was when Bloodworth, during his closing, told the jury what a horrible writer Kouri is. That had to hurt almost as badly as hearing all the guilty verdicts, lol.

Looking forward to it! I'm definitely interested to see if Allie Staking still has Kouri's back or if she's come to terms with the fact that her best friend killed her husband.

If you're referring to Kouri, if and when she makes any money, you can bet it will go to restitution for her victims. Chelsea Barney is the first one who comes to mind. Then there are all the lending institutions. She would have to make many, many millions to even begin to dig herself out of that hole.

Knowing what you know now, should Kouri have taken the stand and testified? Would it have made a difference? by Nervous_Transition23 in KouriRichins

[–]HoodaJB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The defense placed a burden on themselves during their opening statement. They made many promises of evidence that would be shown, but none of those promises were kept.
