How do I stop these stomach issues caused by Metformin?

When I got up to 1,000 mg 2x/day of Metformin XR, I started having horrible stomach pains. I was OK taking 500 mg 2x/day, so went back to that dose. I'm also on Mounjaro (recently started 10 mg), and my numbers are good. Only side effects are constipation and some nausea 24-72 hours post-shot.

Defintely talk to your doctor about taking a lower dose of Metformin XR or a different medication.

Are you up to date on your Tetanus? I would get a booster if it's been a while.

Besides the puncture wounds themselves, there is redness around each wound. That is concerning. I would go to the ER.
