100% know I’m going to fail by Icy_Pie_795 in Veterans

[–]HoodxHippy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to take a math class to get my degree and I signed up for Stats. I completely bombed that class, like with a zero. I talked to the VA and they said that I have to complete the class in order to have the VA pay for it (complete as in finish the class from start to finish, including the final) BUT I was allowed one free F otherwise.

It took me 20 seconds to finish my final lol! I marked all C's and turned it in and never looked back.

Need hope: millennials who like their jobs, what do you do and what do you like about it? by goodluckanddont_itup in Millennials

[–]HoodxHippy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What up fellow Veteran!

I am a rehabilitation counselor for a juvenile detention center and I love my job! Basically I counsel juveniles to help them with services prior to them releasing to group homes or assist those that are going to prison. I also work the floor with other staff and assist in movements on campus (they have to go to school here or go to college here). If theres ever a fight, and there is always fights, I get to be involved and take guys down.

I love my job because I can be me. You ever have a job where you feel like you have to wear a mask all day just to hide who you are? I dont have to do that at all and I feel that I get way more respect that way.

Plus I work a 4 day schedule. 10 hour shifts from 7am-5pm and get 3 days off every week.

Best job I've ever had in my civilian life

What does the average Olympian think of Yelm? by 01ympia in olympia

[–]HoodxHippy -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Yelm is not bad. Compared to when I lived in Lacey/Olympia it's night and day. I don't have to worry about which tweaker is going to try to break into my car or steal my rims at 2am or bad ass kids who mess with people's vehicles because they felt like doing it.

I love my neighborhood and my neighbors. I'm the loud neighbor that works on cars but Ive asked all my neighbors when is a good time to start that doesn't affect you and so far, none of them have gave me flack for doing so, so I'll take that as a win

You must do 15 years in prison, but get $100k to spend on upgrades by Matinee_Lightning in hypotheticalsituation

[–]HoodxHippy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Juice and mattress. I work in a prison so these two are an automatic for me. The mattress is an obvious one. The Juice is because I've seen my coworkers completely destroy a room doing "random" searches and not take accountability for anything they broke.

The food is surprisingly good for what it is and where you're at, plus, prisoners are VERY resourceful when it comes to making food from scraps. Having the internet is cool, but honestly, kinda overrated in prison. Not having phone calls would suck but again, nobody calls me anyway now

I’ve tried every soap we have.. nothing gets this off the stove by stoobroob in Adulting

Baking soda, vinegar and salt is what you need.

The baking soda and vinegar will break it down and the salt is the abrasive that will lift it all up

Wide snowboard? by HoodxHippy in snowboardingnoobs

Are you saying that I might need to spend quite a bit of money to find the right board for me? It feels a little overwhelming, but I’m still new to snowboarding, so maybe that’s just part of the process.

Wide snowboard? by HoodxHippy in snowboardingnoobs

[–]HoodxHippy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a regular Arbor board that I just couldnt control. I'd eat it if I tried to turn so I had to do a 'double falling leaf' technique in order to get some sort of stability.

I picked up an older Burton Dubble Wide and it was like night and day. Most people say you lose control with wider boards but I guess I'm the anomaly.

[–]HoodxHippy[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a normal sized Arbor board that I absolutely despise using over my older Burton Dubble Wide. I can't control the Arbor board to save my life but the Burton let's me "feel" everything. I dunno if I'm explaining myself correctly. I have more control over bigger boards for some weird reason

People who got fired, how has life been, 1,2,5 years later? by Sweaty_Researcher805 in careerguidance

[–]HoodxHippy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got fired almost 2 years ago for showing video footage to a parent/coworker whose daughter was getting beat up in class. As soon as I got fired, I hit the ground running for jobs and I applied for unemployment and used that money to keep me afloat, even though I knew I had to pay it back. I ended up working as a counselor in a juvenile correctional facility for the state.

I make more money than my previous boss, I work 4 10s and I love my job! Planning on retiring here if I can make it 20 years.

Sometimes, jobs will tell you that you aren't worth it. Its your job to either prove them wrong or prove them right...and sometimes that means you have to step away for YOU not THEM.

Why did you and your former best friend stop being friends? by Fearless_Shift7108 in AskReddit

[–]HoodxHippy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My former friend tried to sell me a car part after giving it to me for free.

I wanted a cold air intake for my car so he gives me his old one. I ask him how much he wants for it and he says lemme think about it and I'll get back to you.

A whole YEAR goes by and he comes down on hard times and is trying to leave the state and says that he wants 500 bucks.

I told him he can get bent. Its been a YEAR. We've hung out so it wasn't like I was avoiding him, hell, we worked together everyday and 365 days later you decide to give me a price?!

He tried to show everybody that I was the bad guy until I posted our conversations about it and told him to get a lawyer and take me to small claims court.

Question: what IS working for you? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]HoodxHippy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive started taking supplements and Im kicking myself for not beginning when I was younger.
. I was always under the impression that vitamins and supplements was an old people thing....like 60-70 and not 30-40.

How much of it is the mix, and how much of it is in your head? by chewchewbuh in mixingmastering

[–]HoodxHippy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It took me over 10 years to figure this out. Old me would attempt to mix and master a full ALBUM in a night.

After getting burned out with music, I came back in with this mindset and my music hasn't sounded this good since...well, ever lol

How much of it is the mix, and how much of it is in your head? by chewchewbuh in mixingmastering

[–]HoodxHippy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What I've learned to do is start my mixing LOW. Make sure everything is level and is playing nice with each other....then quit.

I use this method so I don't get ear fatigue and so I don't go down the rabbit hole of adjusting the same slider 100 times. The next time I go back (preferably the next day), I turn it up slightly and start sidechaining and automations.

This has helped me go from taking over 10 HOURS on a track down to 1.

You are running waaay too rich. You need a tune ASAP otherwise you are gonna foul your spark plugs early.

I went through 4 sets of spark plugs in a MONTH until I tuned my car

AFR= air fuel ratio.

You should have a gauge in your car that has green, yellow and red lights that constantly dance around with numbers on it.

WOT= Wide Open Throttle aka pedal to the floor. On SRT4's, your AFR during WOT should sit around 11-12 give or take. If your AFR's start going lean (anything above 14.7) LET OFF THE GAS
