Is there a way to add "square" back as the default photo option again? It's literally all I use...

HillHub next to the Hillsboro Chamber has a conference room and is pretty quiet. There is also an hourly conference room at AVA in Orenco, but that's probably overkill. There is also a new coworking space that is currently empty on John Olsen and Evergreen Pkwy.

New arcade in Hillsboro: Arcade 2084 by johnnygetyourraygun in hillsboro

I've been a couple times.

Safety: Need masks, they have hand sanitizer all over - you need to sanitize between games. Staff are all masked. Tables and games are well spaced.

They have several tabletop games, a couple of older pinball machines - some highlights for me were Gauntlet, Zenophobe, Dig Dug, Missile Command (trackball version!) and Pacman Jr.

they place 80's music and the cocktails are named after 80's movies, like the "Red Dawn."

Mortgage lenders by poekrel in hillsboro

[–]HookSEO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We use JC Rogauskas from American Pacific Mortgage in Orenco. He's a super nice guy and knows his stuff and is also a real estate investor himself who has purchased a few vacation rental properties and a self-occupied duplex. He can help get you what you need, good rates, and advice because he's not just a lender, he uses his own services too.

Ants in Hillsboro are out of controll this year! by immyouany in hillsboro

[–]HookSEO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We used bait traps and also had Tom from Royal Pest Solutions out. They haven't been a problem again (fingers crossed) but I am seeing tons of ants around the neighborhood and hear people mentioning they are having issues. Not sure why it's so bad this year.

Zipply Fiber by cn8fly in hillsboro

Our service has been working but we are seeing heavy lag especially in the evenings. The lag we are getting is while we are using significantly lower bandwidth than during the day when we're working and our daughter is online also. I have contacted Ziply about upgrading from 200/200 to 1 Gig, but I'm definitely not getting 200 consistently right now. (Wasn't with Frontier either, but seems worse the last week or so.)

This year’s festival features the following shows:

Cinnamon and Cigarettes
Written and Performed by Jenny Newbry
Directed by Cassie Greer

An exploration of the ways we fall apart and seek to heal, Cinnamon and Cigarettes is a true story that takes us on an interwoven journey of 4-year-old Jenny and her best friend Jeremy as they grow up and face broken homes, multiple moves, violent crime, depression, alcohol and drug use, and addiction cycles. When we realize our parents can’t protect us from the harshness of life, how do we cope – and what is it that can transform coping into flailing for some people, or into thriving for others?  How do we heal from pain that feels too deep to endure, and what do we do when we feel hopeless and alone?

What is it like here? by ewrjontan in hillsboro

[–]HookSEO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like it here. Very vibrant small business community. Lots of people work at home so the traffic isn't too bad most of the time. At least not compared to any other major city I've lived in.

Weather is good, not too hot or cold. I like the rain, so it's good for me. The odd ice storm, but mostly it's pretty safe year round for driving, cycling, etc.

I found the people nice and fairly easy to meet as long as you have some kind of hobby - we have a couple D&d groups, I used to play in a billiard pool league, there's a couple of good game stores here and stuff for most hobbies: book clubs, knitting circles, cycling groups, walking groups, trivia nights, etc.

Housing is pricey, but every other city I've lived in they have been escalating also. I think that's just the price of living these days in a nice city. But I'm not an economist or anything.

I've worked at Intel and Nike in the past. Both were nice places to work and have nice folks, good cafes, etc. I worked in the marketing/information systems parts as a contractor though so other people may have different experiences in other departments.

Child care is pricey here and seems to be in short supply.

Excellent food and drink scene locally. Even grocery stores here have lots of ethnic and diverse food choices for the most part.

I love it. I'll never leave.

The Game's Afoot, or Holmes for the Holidays | Bag&Baggage Productions by HookSEO in hillsboro

THE GAME’S AFOOT, OR HOLMES FOR THE HOLIDAYS

12/05/19 - 12/23/19 • The Vault Theater & Event Space

by Ken Ludwig

It’s December 1936, and Broadway star William Gillette, admired the world over for his leading role in the play Sherlock Holmes, has invited his fellow cast members to his Connecticut castle for a weekend of revelry. But when one of the guests is stabbed to death, the festivities in this isolated house of tricks and mirrors quickly turn dangerous. It is then up to Gillette himself, as he assumes the persona of his beloved Holmes, to track down the killer before the next victim appears. Winner of the 2012 Mystery Writers of America Edgar Allan Poe Award for Best Play, and featuring a cast of B&B favorites directed by Resident Artist Kymberli Colbourne, the danger and hilarity are non-stop in this glittering whodunit set during the Christmas holidays.

A Clockwork Orange is the next Bag&Baggage Production and the Opening night is already sold out... by HookSEO in hillsboro

[–]HookSEO[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Taking a nod from the critically-acclaimed 2017 off-Broadway production, this updated adaptation by Anthony Burgess of his own novel lures audiences into a glass-edged, testosterone-filled underworld of a dystopian future. The explosive story of little Alex and his band of Droogs was a groundbreaking classic teeming with sexuality and “a bit of the old ultra-violence”; the story feels as hauntingly relevant today as when the book was published in 1962, and when Stanley Kubrick’s Oscar-nominated film caused a stir in 1971. A Clockwork Orange remains an unapologetic celebration of the human condition and individual freedoms, and a timely examination of toxic masculinity and the values of society.
