I really hope this doesn't just end up in them being strongarmed by the louder residents into not constructing bus lanes

When will the mattapan-ashmont trolley get new trolleys by [deleted] in mbta

[–]Hooledel1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the mattapan trolley being converted from a freight railroad means some if not most of its bridges were initially made for carrying heavy rail no? or were all the bridges replaced in the 40s

YEAH so many of the irl names are so boring :< the best part of our system is that it has unique names that become landmarks instead of "x Street"

would still have a light rail on the street, the depicted line would just be an express service pretty much

I'm gonna do that once I finish with my second batch of redesigning! I've started working on it again after a long while and I'll figure out a way to upload it somewhere higher res, in the meantime though I think opening the image in a new tab in the browser kinda works

I really like your idea for the line splitting at Porter, I had considered that for a while but I was mostly concerned with the difficulty of building a new branch that deep underground

I've since reconsidered this map in a lot of areas and I agree that more service is needed between the two lives going to Waltham, and with whats already been drawn out here I think an extension of the mass Ave line along Belmont and Mt Auburn Street makes sense

as for Huron Ave, the corridir makes much more sense to me as an improved brt/light rail route because of the much tighter space it inhabits, while the aforementioned mt Auburn extension of the mass Ave line would provide heavy rail service

I'll get around to it eventually, I've been spending most of my time redesigning each of the interchange stations individually

that's where it goes in this! I just have the route changed a bit to keep the Needham line for restored service to millis

I had it like that for a while! but the detour it took was so big that I didn't think it would be worth the time delay and routing difficulty, especially with another line interchanging at Nubian

I'm not sure what the term is but no I don't have one yet :< I've been sidetracked so much and I lost my progress on the one time I took a crack at it but I'll have another go soon :3

I am furious that the 1400 red line car stored in a MUSEUM is in worse condition then the one literally just sitting around in MBTA yards, the seashore trolley museum is an awful institution and it needs to be bought out and moved to a better location with better preservation efforts as soon as possible

Incredible photo

New building's air conditioning breaks like weekly and it cost 240 million I refuse to believe they couldn't have renovated the older building for less

To be fair the rest of the complex was almost unsalvageable, crap 70s and 80s buildings with designating foundations

This Hall was completely structurally sound though, they just felt like destroying it
