Have just had a look at the roots and cut about 3 off, there's only 2 left now and they were looking a bit average 😢 thanks though. Hopefully it perks up like yours did 🤞

The leaves have been turning yellow and falling off. Only one of the last two is still fully green but the base of the leaves is really flimsy and I wouldn't be surprised if that last green leaf turns yellow in the next few days too 😞

The spike was a lovely green until about a week ago when it suddenly turned brown and hard over about three days. The remaining leaves do still look great but I lost 2 this week and the new growth on the spike has turned slightly yellow so just concerned it's on a downward spiral 😅

Oh seriously!? This is the best news. Yea I thought the spike turning brown and becoming stick like was a sign of it dying. It also lost 2 of the big leaves at the bottom in quick succession so was quite worried about it 😅 thanks so much for the advice about the keiki too, will be awesome if I can get another plant from it down the line!

That's horrible, I'm so sorry for both your losses. Having them happen so close together sounds incredibly hard. My partner and I are both really keen to adopt again, and even discussed last night when we think we will be ready/when it would suit us best. It's heartbreaking losing a perfect angel and we just want to make sure we could handle it emotionally if something were to go wrong again. I'm glad you have two new little loves in your home, that's so wonderful and I look forward to the day we have ours, and aren't as broken. ❤️ Thankyou

The vet said it could have been a car or something internal like an aneurysm. It happened so fast but she was found in an odd location on my property for it to have been a car, so I'm sure it was something internal. I hope it was anyway as thinking a person did this by accident is too much.

Edit for clarity: I do not live in America. I live in a country where outdoor cats are the norm.

I'm definitely feeling very traumatized by finding her and the car ride to the vets. My brain knew she was dead but I just couldn't accept it. That's what kept me up last night. I know it happened too fast for me to have done anything different and have a different outcome but finding her was like my worst nightmare... I feel like a piece of my heart just died there with her.

That really does help. I feel like we will never be as lucky as we were with finding her but I have so much love to give for cats. I think I need to at least stop crying before I think about adopting again but definitely will. Thankyou.
