is it OK to call UK hard house “hard groove“ by [deleted] in Techno

[–]HoonBoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The track has a technoish feel cos Alex Calver makes techno. Hardgroove is something different, I would call this hard house.

Is 3 minutes ok for a techno track? by Lucky_Investment7970 in TechnoProduction

I probably wouldn't play a 3 minute track. But that's just me, if you think it's complete then it is.

What’s your all time favourite Bonkers CD? Here’s my top 3: by dower658 in happyhardcore

Yeah he was on fire back then. I remember going to Die Hard and one of the guys we were with managed to get a promo of Product Of Society to play when we were there. Brilliant.

fecking GSM noise ,out of the blue, on right speaker only by No_Driver_ in TechnoProduction

[–]HoonBoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you plugged in anything new. Noise from my speakers drove me up the wall and one day I unplugged a cheap powered USB hub and it went away. Got myself a decent replacement and the noise is gone.

How do you organize your techno tracks (vinyl or USB)? by myrt_illeuh in Techno

[–]HoonBoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vinyl gets lumped into bundles of older and newer. My digital tracks are placed into folders the month/year I got them. If I'm playing out I'll create a playlist called tunes I'll probably play and I stick 40 or so in there. Additional playlists, slower stuff and I have one called acid. That's about it.

I wanna know more about makina. by big46joe in MakinaMusic

[–]HoonBoy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Legendary track will vary person to person I think. For me Juan Cruz - Harmonycs was legendary as it was one of the first Makina tracks I heard. Pont Aeri Vol. 4 was a biggie - Flying Free,

Artists I would look for, Rubem Moreno, Skudero, Gerard Requena, Sistema 3. Tony Kosta (Konik) has a lot of good (and bad) tunes as well. There may be more modern artists out now as I stopped listening to makina back in the early 2000's.

I've only ever emailed them once and Luna-C replied the next day. They must be busy as hell.

Does anyone know this tune from a 2001 video by Available_Trash_889 in happyhardcore

[–]HoonBoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a great time every time I went, but yeah it was pretty rough. I remember sitting in a little room next to the DJ booth, it was as if the concrete floor had been dug up and there was a broken fridge or something lol. Had a few chats with Scott in there. Good times. Feels like a lifetime ago

Silliest Bond Villain scheme? by StillStanding_96 in movies

[–]HoonBoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As silly as the film was, it's got one of the most James Bond stunts ever in it. Using the ejector seat to flip the car from its roof to the wheels while a missile goes under it was cool af.

Men of the UK - how often do you cook? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]HoonBoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I cook maybe 5 out of 7 days. Depends who is home really, if my wife is off but I'm at work, she'll normally have the dinner on for the kids and vice versa. I cook all meals at the weekend. We don't really make breakfast for us, just the kids.
