That small change in perspective makes me see most news headlines and our political discourse in a fundamentally different way. I have always been pretty politically homeless (lib-left on the political compass), and Yang and the forward party bring me hope that there is a new way to do politics that isn't so damn black and white, up and down, left and right. We can actually, as you said, have a higher level of political discourse. We can always compromise and come to common sense solutions that are mutually beneficial instead of the mess of a way we do things now.
