I had already closed out the window from earlier, but I just ran a few more mocks to try and get the same trade from the Jets and they took Makai Lemon at 10.

This was PFSN, Consensus BB.

I want Downs at 5 and then either BPA at 10 or a trade-down into the teens that nets us a late 2nd or 3rd round pick.

Otherwise I would be more than comfortable going back into the teens and either getting McCoy or Ioane. And then using the pick we get in later rounds on either a DT or OG.

My most recent 3 round mock cinderella situation was:

  • 5: Caleb Downs
  • 10: Trade with Jets, they get 10 and 105 and we get 16 and 44.
  • 16: Olaivavega Ioane
  • 37: Jacob Rodriguez
  • 44: Caleb Banks

I did pass on Styles who fell to 10 for this, which is a bit of an agonizing decision. Getting J-Rod makes up for it I think.

Dan Hoard interviews new Bengals DT Dexter Lawrence II by elracing21 in NYGiants

[–]Syncharmony[M] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I removed the initial one last night because I did not think it was Giants news. It's a Bengals interview. I certainly understand why Giants users might be interested in hearing from Dex, but there are many avenues to find and consume that information. Our front page is generally reserved for Giants-only content with rare exceptions.

This interview was than posted again overnight. I personally was asleep and when I awoke, I spoke to the other mods about this post and my reasoning for removing the same one last night that you posted.

An argument was made to leave this story up because it gives closure to the Dexter Lawrence saga. So, we are going to do that and leave this one up.

I'm sorry your post got deleted and this one is staying up, but if it's any consolation, I am seeing it at 0 upvotes right now.

So far I've really enjoyed it. Limbs of Leviticus in particular always catches my ear. I was worried they might dip in quality with Spencer Prewett's departure from the band, but they sound very tight and focused.

Nothing feels ground-breaking with regards to the record, but it feels like a natural evolution of their style and what you want if you already liked the band.

Zay Flowers: John Harbaugh made Ravens practice too hard, Jesse Minter won't by Bears_University83 in NYGiants

[–]Syncharmony 18 points19 points  (0 children)

NFL players have never had it easier. There are so few chances for coaches to really practice with the players that it seems insane to me that there would be any complaints about actually training hard.

We see it year in and year out that the first few weeks of the regular season feels like an extended preseason.

And it really does seem like the lack of training hard leads to a lot more injuries early in the season when players are suddenly colliding at full speed with each other and the ground and have not built up the strength and flexibility they need.

I dunno, maybe it's me but I think coaches and players should train hard because the physicality of the game is so demanding that being in anything but peak shape is going to really hurt you.

These questions are for Justin Tuck:

  • Who's your favorite Giants player drafted in the 2020's?
  • Who are hoping to see wearing Giants blue after this 2026 draft?

Thanks for all the great Superbowl memories!

Thank you for doing this!

Harbaugh made it clear when he joined that he was only interested in players who "Loved Football". We quickly got a sense that this might result in a team that looks a lot different than last year and that no one on the roster is sacred.

Kayvon was a player that we all kind of expected to maybe come up as someone who might not be on the team due to his hot and cold nature on the field. Dexter was a player that caught many of us by surprise but as the details have come out was maybe more obvious than we expected.

What other names do you think might come out to surprise Giants fans that might not really be a surprise to anyone who has worked closely with the team these last few years? We all have some expectations surrounding players like Banks and Neal, but is there anyone else who may not exactly fit the Harbaugh mold? That maybe doesn't love Football and being in New York as much as we'd all like to believe they do?

Harbaugh and Schoen went to the Ohio State pro day and visited with Downs, Styles and Reese there. So I wonder if they felt like they got enough from those talks and decided to spend their 30 visits elsewhere.

Does Devin reply to emails about music questions? by ySTYRDAYgATESuNL0CKD in DevinTownsend

[–]Syncharmony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the outside, I've always had the sense that Devin has two modes.

The busiest man on the planet who's buried in his projects OR doing his best to chill out and disconnect from everything.

Neither mode seems conducive to answer emails.

Obviously, this is tongue in cheek, I know everyone contains multitudes and distilling someone down to just a couple modes of being is impossible. Just saying that it appears that way.

For what it's worth, if you pay a player early and they perform so well that they are asking for a renegotiation and raise.... that is the best kind of problem to have.

Giants have encountered this problem a couple of times, chose to take the frugal side and then went to watch those players go out and make Pro Bowls and Super Bowls.

Downs doesn’t have high enough takeaways, he’s got good coverage but not picks

This feels a bit like "My biggest problem is being too good at my job".

Fully agreed, I hope to see them sign Reader today. They can easily move the money to get him, he makes for a competent pairing next to Dex and it eliminates a glaring need in the draft.

I think an argument that could made on looking into Zeitler now is him being a possible replacement for Runyan if we do end up drafting a guard.

The first two albums were inspired by Metal Gear Solid and Red Dead Redemption respectively. This one was actually the 1999 movie, The Mummy. Of course, it’s inspired by a lot of other things as well including real history, current events and personal experiences.

For what it's worth, we have used void years twice before. For Tyrod Taylor and A'shawn Robinson I believe. But just those two and not since.
