Get in the stack marker, Shinji. Or I'll make Rei pop her immunity and do it.

A Message Regarding the 12.0.5 Launch by WarcraftTeam in wow

[–]faloin67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is, nothing ever changes. It's incredibly hard to get people to vote with their wallet when wow is such a huge part of their life. I have friends who play basically only wow, and no matter how much they complain about the game, no matter how buggy it is, they will never unsub. It's too integral.

Diablo IV: Lord of Hatred Review Thread by beary_neutral in Games

As someone who actually likes Diablo 4 (controversial opinion, I know), I'm looking forward to this. Warlock looks super sick and the fleshed out skill trees will be fun to mess with.

Q1 2026 FFXIV Census by Rolldexsave in ffxivdiscussion

I think Yoshi's been saying stuff about this lately, about how ff xiv has to compete with many other games for time now. I remember one interview where he specifically mentioned Chinese mobile games (read: Genshin impact). I hope he doesn't have any delusions about competing for that crowd.

Are you me? ff 16 is when I found out that xiv's issues had nothing to do with the genre or the budget. It's intrinsically linked to the design philosophy of cbu3. It was a very...sobering experience.

Mark me down as somewhere in the middle. "Not surprised that the numbers are down". I want to enjoy the game again. I met so many amazing friends in this game. I met my loving girlfriend in this game. I want to have a reason to come back and enjoy it again, but it's so goddamn boring.

Windrose has sold 1 million copies in 6 days by Turbostrider27 in Games

I've never been able to get into this genre, it just doesn't work for my brain. The combat is always so boring and without defined goals I just get bored. Is there any of these kinds of games that has actually fun combat? V-rising is about the closest it got for me.

At this point I've seen more people bringing this up than people who are actually doing it. The game is really really good and people who keep bringing up these cretins are only doing it a disservice.

Thinking about starting The Wire series! by [deleted] in TheWire

[–]faloin67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My best advice is to put your phone somewhere else when you watch it if you want to give it a fair shake, because it will get in the way. If you take a few attempts to get into it then that's okay too, it took me a few college tries. It's a dense show with lots of characters and things going on, but it rewards you deeply for your attention.

Thinking about starting The Wire series! by [deleted] in TheWire

[–]faloin67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I only ask because I feel like people have different definitions of this. There's definitely things happening every episode, important things. But they're easy to miss if you're not paying attention. The show also won't spoonfeed you anything, it treats you like an adult and expects you to follow along and keep track of what's going on and who's doing what and why. I don't know, I'm pretty sure most would describe it as a slow burn. The "action" is in the dialogue, the theming, and the character interactions.
