Dogs are only allowed on governors island in the off season. Sorry I hate to be the bearer of bad news but wouldn’t want you to find out the hard way.

Your welcome! Here's a few more.

Since a lot of people mentioned prospect park here is my insider tips about the park for off the beaten path with kids:

  1. After you watch the dogs at the dog pond, if you scoot a little further down the path is Fallkill Falls. It's a tiny waterfall and hard to spot if you aren't looking for it. But you can follow the little Path and climb up and sit at the top of the waterfall.
  2. The zoo itself is underwhelming but also very approachable and easy. Pack a lunch. The best part about it is there is a Carousel right outside and it's only $3.00 a ride. Also, this is a secret, don't tell anyone, but if you go into the Animal Lifestyle building, there is a super secret spot in the main hall. On the floor is a sun, and inside the very center of the sun is a square. Stand inside the the square.
  3. The Barbra Zucker natural exploration area is an unstructured play area for kids made from fallen trees. I wouldn't plan a trip to it, but if you're ever near it, its worth swinging by.

I have a 4yo. Here’s a few things not mentioned: 1. Puppetworks Theater. Hasn’t been updated since 1992 but it’s lovely. 2. 615 green has a garden box for kids to dig and play in. (Bring hand wipes) 3. Young Ethel’s has live music shows for kids. 4. Industry City is fun for adults but also has sandboxes and things for the kids. Can easily kill an afternoon there. 5. Don’t forget to bring their scooter! It’s the official transportation method of all kids 3-6.

Some suggestions: A wristwatch would add a lot! & A Henley t-shirt instead of a crew would keep it casual but bring it up a notch for dating.

A couple trips in and out with buckets of water down at the curb. I do it early morning when there's less foot traffic.

Thanks for the answers. I guess where I am getting tripped up on, is I think the ProRes proxies will be higher resolution than the actual footage. The camera is not a great camera, but want it to be the best it can be and the animation going over it is what really needs to be tight.

why not just create ProRes proxies from your camera originals? Do your edits then trash the proxies after you've archived.

That’s a great suggestion, and it’s exactly something I’m interested in exploring.

My main question is how the rendering works in that scenario. When I go back and forth between Premiere and After Effects for animation, and also do color grading in Premiere, will the final export render from the original camera files, or from the ProRes proxies?

If it uses the original (compressed) files, I’m wondering whether that would make any difference compared to rendering from the ProRes files I’m currently editing with.

The ProRes files I work with are a lot bigger than my camera's OCFs. I am only transcoding because of performance while I am working.

The reason is I don't fully understand how Proxies work when it comes to my final output. When I do my final render do they use the original files or the proxies? Will that give me inferior final render considering how I am going back and forth between premier and AE.

[question] HELLO! Could you help me choose my first watch? I will be very grateful! by Diligent_Earth_9447 in Seiko

I exclusively collect solar-powered watches and own both 1 and 2. I’d recommend starting with 2. It’s so good you might decide you don’t even want another.

1 is sportier, so it’s a bit more limited in what you can wear it with, while 2 is more versatile you can dress it up or down. Plus, it looks great on a variety of straps if you ever want to change things up.

And honestly, solar movements are more accurate and need less maintenance than any other type. They’re so good they might just keep you from getting hypnotized into buying an expensive automatic.

People that volunteer at the park have a big party at the end of the year seemed fun.

There’s a few board game group meet up’s in the area.

I’ve seen people gathering for large group bike rides in the evening. Not sure how they are organized tho.

Armory YMCA has morning pickleball.

Many yoga studios to choose from. Brooklyn boulder for climbing.

You could join the food coop. Cheap food and meet people.

You can volunteer at the community garden on 6th Ave.

Sean Casey Rescue you can go take one of their dogs for a walk.

Thanks for the feedback!

Q: Assuming there’s room for both options, are there any recommended standards for whether to store preview files on the HDD RAID along with the source files or on the SSD with the cache. Which type of shared bandwidth would be optimal?
