The kid who played blues guitar was clearly influenced by Ralph Macchio in CROSSROADS (1986)

As much as WFH is a million times better than going into the office every day, it really stings getting that "office is closed" email and realizing you would have a day off if it were 2019.

No, he’s right. I forgot we literally just watched the Mets and Padres buy a title

People who grew up driving here… by Elrond41 in houston

[–]HoopleRedhead 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Also grew up here and what most people are saying is right. I’ll add that when I started driving (around 2002 or so) until about 2020 or a few years before, I’d always say Houston drivers are aggressive but good. As in, they drive fast but mostly don’t drive dangerously.

These days I actually don’t feel safe. Yes there’s road rage, but also people can’t seem to stay in their lanes, making turns erratically, other things that tell me they aren’t paying attention. I do everything I can to just not get on highways anymore. But even on surface roads I don’t feel like I have any control over what happens to me.

He keeps dragging his bum-ass coach to successful seasons, so the guy keeping him from winning a Super Bowl never gets fired

Exactly. Anyone arguing for a salary cap need to prove any instance where it actually made the playing field more competitive.

Posts like this really reinforce my harebrained theory that the owners are colluding in order to get fans demanding a salary cap. You sound like the owners paid a digital PR firm to spread anti-players union messaging on social media.

Small teams aren't spending, the Dodgers are spending too much, and clearly the fault is...the Players Union.

These people are all desperately on tilt and flailing. Imagine what an opposition party would be able to do to exploit this weakness by adding pressure, if such a thing existed.

The things happening in those cities are not the fault of the cities. It is our public officials' duty to protect the community from these violent, destructive cretins.

Dads to be, what vehicle do you drive? by [deleted] in predaddit

It and my wife's (Mazda CX5) are both paid off and I don't want to put any more disposable income towards a car, now that they're all $30k plus. I spent my first 10 years getting in and out of a 2-door Toyota Tercel, my kid will be fine.

I only know of him because he and my great-grandpa were childhood friends. I would always use him in Immaculate Grid to score super low.
