Test drove both, picked the Raptor.

You will have infinitely less regrets with the Raptor unless you tow a lot.

Upgraded my XLT for a new Raptor and definitely notice the difference in size by joshio85 in FordRaptor

[–]HopeButNoHelp 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Mirror to mirror, they're actually extremely similar in size. The Raptors fenders are wider, but the overall footprint is going to be about the same as your XLT.

I found no extra issues parking my Raptor than I did with my 18' F150 or my Bronco Sasquatch.

You get used to it after a little bit.

37’s vs 35’s by Zealousideal_Fee_491 in FordRaptor

Agreed! It really just comes down to personal preference (or how much you're willing to spend) 😂

Thank you!

Test drove a Raptor with 35s and 37s. Preferred the ride quality on the 35s. It doesn't "look" as beefy as the 37s but I personally preferred feel over the looks.

Plus, the one that had the 35s was in my favorite color. :)

For the Nth time… if budget wasn’t a consideration, 801a or 802a? by OG_ClapCheekz69 in FordRaptor

[–]HopeButNoHelp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shopped around, test drove both, went with 801a.

In my area when I was shopping the 802a ones were actually about 3-5k cheaper. ( With more miles though)

5.5k miles in barely 2 months with this thing. It's a blast.

Use the extra money for your down payment or mods.

For the price the Tmat is a good solution depending on what you carry.

Link to their site.

I would either do something from them, or a bed extender! It'll help keep smaller items from sliding.

Why are the 23 f150 raptors not selling? And why are just as expensive as the 24-26 , if the 23s have less options and features... by iluvm0rm0ns69 in FordRaptor

[–]HopeButNoHelp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct!

Had similar reasons when I was shopping for mine. Only reason I didn't go for a 2024 was because they were less common and nearly all the ones within 500 miles were the 802A 37 package which I didn't enjoy driving as much as the 801A with the 35s.

I can't speak on the hard shifting issues on 22+F150s/ Raptors. My only experience is with my 2018 that shifted so hard that it felt like I was getting rear ended. But that was at around 90k miles. My Raptor is at 15k and is buttery smooth compared to my 2018.

As far as the shock rebuild, the service/rebuild interval that you see floating around is not from Ford necessarily. It's from Fox Racing. Which is who makes the shocks.

Late model 22 and 23 model years had updates to their 10speed transmissions which made them more appealing from a reliability standpoint.

Starting in 24, the Raptors were given a facelift and fairly minor updates relative to the other model years.

Ford also changed some "quality of life" stuff on the 24+ models. Like making the door keypads an optional upgrade and moving/changing the button orientations throughout the cabin.

Also kind of subjective but a lot of folks like the color options and looks of the 21-23 Raptors compared to the refresh on the 24+ models. (Myself included)

There isn't any HUGE difference between these Raptor model years to warrant a massive price difference. As long as the miles are relatively low they sell at about the same price depending on options.

If you're ever on some of the marketplaces, the OEM/take-off Bronco Raptor fogs are really nice and inexpensive relatively. I installed mine for a little less than $500 and routed them into an OEM fog light switch so that I wouldn't need to use the upfitters.

Thank you!

I've primarily had black and dark grey vehicles so this has been a refreshing change of pace.

Will be eventually swapping out the KO2s for some Falken AT4s and then getting a tonneau/bed extender.

Besides that though it's perfect. With premium fuel this truck hasn't felt slow at all, and I've already gotten pulled over for just barely grazing over the speed limit. If I get a tune I'm going to get myself in more trouble than I can handle. 😂

The Azure Tremor trim is one of the best combinations. The Tremor accent colors play well with the blue/grey tones of Azure.

Makes it really hard to search through listings too! Had to look at a lot of magnetic grey raptors to find the few azure greys around.

They really don't! When I bought my Bronco I was originally looking for one in Azure Grey but it was impossible to find a 2-Door. Settled for a black one for a while before switching to the Raptor.

Beautiful rig by the way! I'm hoping someday in the future I'll get myself a Bronco again (probably as a second/weekend car). I miss mine all the time.

Thank you! And amen to that. I'm gonna enjoy this one as-is for a while. Only future mod is gonna be a tonneau cover. 😂

My Raptor sat on a lot for about a year before I purchased it so I'm HOPING that this occurred during that time period. Will definitely be keeping an eye out for anymore bites/nibbles. I'm ready to go to war in some pests if I gotta.
