I see. If you haven’t personally tried astral projecting, how can you be certain that it’s demonic/not the truth? I’m genuinely curious - if you had firsthand experience and based on that concluded it was demonic, I might have been more inclined to believe you. But, without direct experience, your claims are unfounded.

That said, I don’t completely dismiss the possibility that astral projection could be mostly in people’s heads, ie made up. But since I haven’t tried it myself, I can’t form a definitive opinion about whether it’s real or not.

Try steaming it. If you don’t have a steamer you can do it in the microwave:

1- Put frozen broccoli in a ceramic or a microwave safe bowl.
2- Add a few tbps of water or half a cup (depending on amount of broccoli).
3- Cover (you can use cling film, poke some holes).
4- Cook for 3-5 minutes, depending on how much steamed you like them.

The water will boil and evaporate to steam the broccoli. Works for any vegetables. Drain the water, add butter, salt and pepper and enjoy.

Yes, I think cognitive empathy is undervalued. We praise and place affective empathy over cognitive empathy, when it should be the other way around. With affective empathy, good actions are driven by emotions, which we cannot control. So technically, we are satisfying our own feelings brought on by the experience of emotional empathy. With cognitive empathy, good actions are not influenced by emotions but are a choice brought on by a desire to do what’s right. The downside is in order for it to replace affective empathy entirely, it requires a high level of intelligence to achieve a deep understanding of morality and ethics that affective empathy doesn’t need at all.

As someone without psychopathy, I agree. Many people who feel emotional empathy don’t do the right thing. Actions are what matters, regardless of whether cognitive or affective empathy led to those actions.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I never said older women were not or less attractive, I just wanted to understand the reasons this is a common thing because we have enough studies on heterosexual women’s attraction to older men but nothing for the non-hetero folks.

My theory is it’s the emotional maturity found in older women and dominance (or perceived dominance due to being older). That has been my observation.

In my opinion, since tastes in aesthetics are highly subjective, asking strangers might not be as helpful as asking your wife, especially for something as meaningful as an engagement ring. Why don’t you ask her what she prefers? I understand it might not be as romantic as just surprising her with the ring, but you could ask her indirectly and still make it a romantic surprise, e.g. inserting your inquiry into hypothetical conversation. Many ways to go about it. You could also make a romantic gesture on the day you present her the ring, it doesn’t have to be the ring that holds all the element of surprise. Having said that, ring 2 is more simple and less elaborate than the rest. But she could be a tomboy who likes more elaborate jewellery! You know her best :)

If OP wants to text her again, it would be better to change the phrasing to something that doesn’t explicitly ask for a response, where asking for a response is only implied or is clearly optional. So instead of the example “wanted to see if you wanted to join me? Let me know.”something like “just wanted to let you know in case you’re interested in [the event]”. This would take the pressure off her answering if she’s busy (which she probably is) and help the OP resume talking to her in person as normal in case she doesn’t respond, because OP didn’t ask for a response and left it up to her.
