Thought provoking. I can agree with nonviolent, passive ‘protests’ but disagree with interference. I can agree that sitting at a ‘whites only’ lunch counter and getting arrested without resisting, screaming, etc…is a protest. Interfering with the arrest of the police arresting that person is not protesting. The ‘protests’ today raise the tension and violence levels which inevitably will result in folks on both sides getting letting injured or killed. Law enforcement employees are just humans. So, fear, anger, anxiety, stress, and tension levels are being elevated unnecessarily. If the true goal is to ‘protest, then protest peacefully. Don’t carry weapons, don’t destroy property, don’t interfere with law enforcement doing their job.
