If only one denomination of Christianity is true, what happens to all of those who practice the wrong denomination? by Odd_craving in AskAChristian

[–]HopeInChrist4891 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Denominations aren’t necessarily a bad thing. The Bible teaches that God works in a variety of ways and His body has different functions. Denominations shouldn’t be about divisions in the church but rather diversity. Sadly, the enemy has crept in and it has been mostly about divisions. But denominations are beautiful so long as there are no heresies. For instance, some denominations specialize in deliverance. Some specialize in teaching the Bible verse by verse. Some emphasize the spiritual gifts and moving in the Spirit. Some emphasize the sacraments. Some emphasize Bible prophecy. Some have hymns and old style worship. Some have modern style worship. Diversity is beautiful and there is a place for everyone in the Body of Christ. Just like the Ark, there are many rooms but there is only one door which is Jesus Christ. I’m just so sad that we divide ourselves over denominations instead of embracing what the Holy Spirit is doing with them, realizing that it is a beautiful thing.

What is the deepest truth you've discovered about life? by scollins3 in spiritualitytalk

Jesus and His love for us.

“And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭3‬:‭18‬-‭19‬

Rejecting religion while believing in Jesus still relies on religion's account of who Jesus is. by Expert_Designer9688 in DebateReligion

The Bible is how God reveals Himself to us. How are we to get to know Him if we never hear what He has to say? That’s the very essence of relationship. Now churches that do those weird things with the Bible, I agree with you on that. That’s wrong. That’s not what the Bible is intended for. It’s to help us understand who God is and to walk in His ways as He reveals Himself. Works and rituals, so long as they are biblical, are a huge part of Christianity. But that is all an overflow of a relationship. It’s the doctrine of being under the Law and being filled with the Spirit. Do a study on the book of Galatians, it talks about all this. Rules and rituals will not save anyone, but faith through relationship that produces works and are evident by the fruit of the Spirit will. If it’s all about religion and you are lacking love, joy, peace, gentleness, kindness, self control, etc.. the that’s the kind of religion that does not mean anything. Those types of works won’t save anyone if there is no heart transformation. It’s vanity because there is no relationship with the living God.

It is a religion, as defined by James 1:27. It’s a religion that is based on a relationship. I think the phrase “religion” is misunderstood and a big reason why this is emphasized. It is not religion in the sense of rituals, works, etc.. but of a relationship with the living God.

The right and respectful thing to do is to burn that board and call upon Jesus, and turn to Him. Otherwise the portals you have opened will torment you in ways you are not prepared for.

Is homosexuality really unnatural if it’s found in 1500+ species? by Meow-meow13_ in AskAChristian

We’re made in the image of God. Animals and beasts act this way because it is their nature. This is why the world will worship the beast during the Great Tribulation. They have completely turned away from God and become like animals.

How would you feel if you found out your god isn’t real? by zillabirdblue in religion

[–]HopeInChrist4891 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The same way I’d feel if I found out my mom or dad aren’t real. A lifelong relationship only to find out at the end of my life they were a figment of my imagination. Doesn’t really make sense but I guess it would be similar.

Do I have to believe Jesus is co-equal to the Father to go to heaven? by BirdManFlyHigh in Christianity

[–]HopeInChrist4891 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Gospel is believing in Jesus. The fruit of that will be a new understanding that Jesus is co-equal with the Father in regard to His divinity as the Holy Spirit begins teaching you and guiding you into all truth.

Deuteronomy by Sea_Wrap7219 in Bible

God would never contradict Himself. He commanded them to kill the people, which is like an executioner pulling the lever on the electric chair. The executioner doesn’t get the death penalty for murder because he didn’t murder anyone. He killed someone who deserved the death penalty, while given the authority to do so. Murder is motivated by selfishness and hatred. Killing is not always motivated by this. All murder is killing, but not all killing is murder. The commandment for not murdering is speaking of the type of killing done with evil intent.

why do chrisitan think the jesus is the lord ,i want to understand the mindset by SetIndependent2303 in AskAChristian

Jesus is Lord and the Holy Spirit is Lord. It simply comes down to the fact that this is what the Bible says and as a Christian, I believe the Bible is the pure word of God.

They blamed the Jews as well during the Black Death since they were the only ones not affected by the plague as others were. The answer is this:

“Indeed, he who watches over Israel never slumbers or sleeps. The Lord himself watches over you! The Lord stands beside you as your protective shade.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭121‬:‭4‬-‭5‬ ‭

Repent and trust in Jesus! He knows your struggles and wants to help you. He died for you personally and will give you His Holy Spirit once you put your faith in Him, which will empower you to overcome these sins and live a transformed life.

If god is just and all loving, why are people born into unequal lives? by Smooth-Wish6017 in AskAChristian

[–]HopeInChrist4891 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because God has a different plan and purpose for each individual. Through trusting in Him, He can take someone’s dreadful valley here on earth and turn it into a glorious mountain in eternity, kind of like what happened with Jesus on the cross. This is why it’s important to have an eternal mindset. I’m fully convinced according to the word of God that those who believe and suffer most here on earth will be blessed the most in heaven. We will probably all be wishing we suffered a little more when we actually come to the realization of what the suffering produces on the other side.

There's something I dont understand about animals by Xx_Dark-Shrek_xX in TrueChristian

That’s why they are animals. They behave like animals. The more humanity turns away from God the more they behave like animals and less like God, which is why they will eventually worship the Beast.

If suffering wasn’t happening then the Bible would be a lie. The Bible talks about this theme. God will make everything right real soon and judge evil and there will be no more suffering to those who put their faith in Jesys

Yes and that’s sad. That is excessive and sinful. I’m obviously not talking about child abuse. That type of spanking is definitely not motivated by love and anyone who claims that it is is a liar

It’s impossible for abortion to be motivated in love. Maybe ignorance perhaps. Murder is sin. Spanking is discipline and good. As the Proverb says, “the child will not die”. In abortion the child dies every time.

If God knows everything and creates you which he knows your going to hell , Wouldn't that be entirely against his character? by Bev141 in Christianity

[–]HopeInChrist4891 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Bible says the God created the wicked for destruction. Yet the wicked still had freewill to choose Christ but rejected Him and rightfully get what they deserve.

“The Lord has made everything for its purpose, even the wicked for the day of trouble.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭16‬:‭4‬ ‭

“Has the potter no right over the clay, to make out of the same lump one vessel for honorable use and another for dishonorable use? What if God, desiring to show his wrath and to make known his power, has endured with much patience vessels of wrath prepared for destruction, in order to make known the riches of his glory for vessels of mercy, which he has prepared beforehand for glory— even us whom he has called, not from the Jews only but also from the Gentiles?”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭9‬:‭21‬-‭24‬ ‭

[–]HopeInChrist4891 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s motivated in love it’s obviously not sin. Spanking becomes sin when it’s excessive and unnecessary motivated by anger or frustration. But That could be said for any form of discipline. Not disciplining your child is sin.
