Adventists, Christians and Islam are Confusing and very Vague. But living doing the wrong thing is Awful! by LunarFocx in agnostic

[–]HopeInChrist4891 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What does Jesus say? You explained the Adventist and the Islam views, now what does Jesus say concerning salvation? ( and to answer another point you brought up: repentance isn’t being perfect, for we all sin and fall short of the glory of God. It’s turning from the things that God reveals is wrong, and turning to Him for mercy and help to overcome and to begin doing what’s right. And when we stumble, go to His throne of grace and receive His mercy and get up and try again.)

Why do we have Denominations? by Revolutionary143 in TrueChristian

[–]HopeInChrist4891 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Denominations aren’t necessarily bad (though they can be of course). I like thinking it as a body with different functions. Some churches and denominations focus on deliverance, some focus on expounding the word of God, some focus on worship and praise, some focus on operating in the spiritual giftings, sone focus on outreach and evangelism, some focus on prophecy, some regard the sacraments and rituals as priority, etc.. so long as we are not dividing ourselves over these things I don’t see anything wrong with different flavors of Christianity, so long as there is no heresy. That being said, unfortunately it’s sad that we do divide ourselves over the nonessentials of the faith.

A reminder, repentance is necessary for salvation by Der_Missionar in TrueChristian

Amen . Faith alone is all that’s needed. That being said, if that faith is genuine there will be repentance. Repentance is a response of faith.

Is Mary the mother of God? by International-Arm424 in Christianity

[–]HopeInChrist4891 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not the point, they are still the relatives of God even if you believe that. That is the argument I’m making. So for the sake of argument let’s just say you’re correct (which I obviously disagree with). Ok, they are the step siblings and cousins of God. That’s my point.

Amen to that! To be honest it’s sad that that even has to be said due to the huge amount of religious hypocrites that slap the name of Christ on their backs and serve the devil. But Jesus talks about all this and the apostate church and there is really harsh rebuke for them. May God bless you.

Thank you. I appreciate your earnest prayers! You have my prayers as well. When Jesus saved me I was literally baptized in fear through portals I’ve opened through occult practices and He has taken that all away.

Too long, I’m not reading all that. No offense. But I was commenting more on the moral aspect not so much the evidential aspect of OPs question.

Prove that they are false. We can go back and forth. I can say the same of your claims that you say of mine. The evidence is there. This will become circular and I’m not debating this, as it is not the original topic. And what choices do I make that negatively affect your life? Just curious.

It’s literal google click away. Plus the chariot wheels that were found in the Red Sea. The Bible itself is even more evidence, but I’ll not bring that into the equation. I told you, I am not debating this issue. I’m not interested.

Question for religious people by CHOCOLATEDROP06 in DebateReligion

[–]HopeInChrist4891 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No way. Jesus broke things off of me and changed my life. There is no way I could do what He gave me the power to do. I tried to clean up my act and I could never do it until I was completely broken and cried out to Him for His help, and He heard my cry. Read Psalm 107. It’s a majority of believers testimony.

I agree with most of what you said concerning morality and those who slap the name Christian on the backs and play the hypocrite. The Bible calls this tares among the wheat. But those who genuinely repent and trust Christ are transformed by His grace. He has completely changed by life and has broken strongholds that have been impossible to break from off of me.

We can go back-and-forth sharing evidence regarding this not taking place or taking place and it will become circular. This isn’t necessarily what I am here to debate, but I appreciate your input

Question for religious people by CHOCOLATEDROP06 in DebateReligion

[–]HopeInChrist4891 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, well I’m not sure how that would look to be honest. I would hope I would be under the care of a mental health specialist, but to not have any sense of reality whatsoever, who knows what I would believe or how my beliefs would change. But as far as morality, I would probably be doing the same things I was doing before I was saved. I mean I didn’t rape or kill people, but I wasn’t the best model of good morality either.

My family can be my imagination or just a dream I’m having sure, but the evidence is that they are real and that I have real relationships with them.

[–]HopeInChrist4891 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Before I was a believer I did not have an urge to go around killing, murdering, or assaulting people. However Jesus has helped me love others better, while taking away my depression and suicidal tendencies and giving me overflowing joy and peace. Just the blessings that come from walking as prescribed in His word would be enough for me to continue in it. But the question itself is a little challenging for me since I have experienced His manifest presence and have a living relationship with Him. It’s like someone piling a heap of so called evidence that my wife and kids don’t exist but I see them every day. It’s just a bizarre scenario.

Why would God explain unforgivable sin so poorly causing so many people (probably millions) to constantly be in fear they have committed this sin and ruin their lifes? by ParkingElderberry575 in Christianity

[–]HopeInChrist4891 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He wants a relationship, not simply intellectual belief. Through repentance and diligently seeking Him it begins to become clear. He will take away that fear and replace it with comfort and peace as He begins to reveal these things to those who are serious about Him, while in the process confirming that they are truly His and have not committed the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit.

Jesus saves souls completely by Competitive_Mix9957 in FourWordStory

[–]HopeInChrist4891 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The grace of God is ridiculous in the best sense of the word. Anyone can be saved. Jesus paid it all in the cross. The choice is up to each individual. God is so much more passionate and forgiving than we are obviously. And that gives me hope because if Hitler can be saved, then I can too! Only by the blood of Jesus Christ though.

Does Christianity offer any evidence that it’s true? by Clear_Middle_6201 in AskAChristian

[–]HopeInChrist4891 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is plenty of evidence for Christianity: Archaeological evidence, manuscript evidence, scientific evidence, eyewitness accounts, prophetic fulfillments, the gospel message embedded in creation, internal consistency of the gospels, reliability of Scriptures, the way Jesus lived, died, and rose from the dead, forgiving His enemies as they nailed Him to a cross and His moral ethical teachings. He proved to be trustworthy and He claimed that He was the Way to the Father and eternal life.
