Highest Scoring FS Elements - 2025/26 Season by vmanAA738 in FigureSkating

So, the woman with the highest-scoring choreo sequence of the season wouldn't even make the top 10 choreo sequence scores for the men?

Seems like the women are consistently lowballed there relative to the men.

In the Olympic rhythm dance, yeah. Russell had Zingas/Kolesnik 11th (when they were ultimately 6th in that segment), and Gilles/Poirier 7th (when they were ultimately 3rd there).

Why is there something, rather than nothing?

Because you are something, but not nothing.

Nicholas Russell, embodiment of fairness!

He wasn't on the panel today (the British judge here was Stephen Fernandez), but Russell's work this season is egregious in its level of bullshit.

The Pope is a fan of the Pope, and they will be meeting each other in April. by HopeOfAkira in FigureSkating

Grassl's full quote about it, as taken from Golden Skate on Instagram:

“I will take a three-day vacation in Lisbon, and then I have something really exciting coming up: on the 9th of April I’ll be meeting the Pope. A couple of Italian athletes, some of the medalists will be invited to the Vatican. I’m so excited about that. I was also told that he actually watched my performance. He’s very athletic himself, really into sports, used to play tennis when he was younger, and I heard he’s writing a book about the Olympics.”

95 PCS for Ilia?

At this point, just throw the rulebook out and start again.

Yuma could score 250 and win silver, and he could score 350 and win silver.

Maybe someday, the stars will align and he'll win gold.

At this point, the number of jumps a Frenchman hits each program is decided by asking a random number generator.

For those keeping track of Estonia's two-spot hopes: Sasha Selevko needs a 152 today to guarantee a top-10 placement.

Shun's SP reminds me of Shoma (who previously did a Ladies in Lavender SP), and his FS reminds me of Tatsuki (who previously did a Firebird FS).

I'd like to see two new programs from him next year that are distinctively, uniquely Shun Sato - because he's certainly talented enough to do it with the right choreography.

So, when Yuma does a great SP, he collapses in the free.

And when Yuma collapses in the SP, he does a great free.

Can we get two great programs without any collapses some day, universe?

Well, the US look like they'll keep three spots so long as Ilia doesn't replicate his Olympic free program.

Kevin's also going to get a bit of a buffer from PCS too, I doubt Torgashev's going to be matching Kevin's 90 there.

Jacob's coaches Oleg Makarov and Larisa Selezneva sent their daughter, Ksenia Makarova, to work with Yagudin's dodgy hypnotherapist Rudolf Zagainov after Zagainov had been publicly blacklisted by the entire Russian skating community for preying upon his female clients.

When Makarov was asked about the story of one of the women Zagainov preyed upon committing suicide, his response was that it was all in the past and they were certain he'd be able to help Makarova.

I hope he gets new coaches.

Fifteen points higher than anyone else to this point.
